We are very close to the start of the season, and as I’m looking at the 2024 class, I couldn’t help but notice that there are still some big names sitting without an offer.
So I decided to highlight the top prospects at each position that are still “Un-Offered” up until this point. Here I have the All-Class of 2024 Un-Offered team, featuring the best players still holding out on offer #1. There is a lot of talent in this group, but for whatever reason, they have yet to get on the board. Several gems and steals in this group!
Check out the First Team offense, and stay tuned for the defense dropping soon.
QB:
Carter Janssen Carter Janssen 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Norfolk Catholic | 2024 State NE | Norfolk Catholic | 6’1″ 180 lbs
Carter is a player that will make a roster better in one way or another. Carter is an impressive athlete with a recorded 4.52 40-yard time and a 33-inch vertical. He is on pace to become the Class C2 all-time leader in passing completion % and has already led the storied Norfolk Catholic program to back-to-back championship appearances, capturing the title in his junior season. On top of being a star on the gridiron, Carter also excels in the classroom with a reported 4.0 GPA. Smart, efficient, athletic QB with championship pedigree… swoop up quick!!
Dean Donaldson Dean Donaldson 6'4" | 200 lbs | QB Lincoln North Star | 2024 State NE | Lincoln North Star | 6’4″ 200 lbs
Dean is a player that I’m keeping a close eye on now that he is expected to be the leader of the North Star offense. Donaldson has been a very interesting prospect since his sophomore season, as he possesses great QB size, solid arm talent, and a ton of upside. Under the coaching of Coach Tommy Armstrong, expect Dean to take the next step in his development.
RB:
Nolan Feller Nolan Feller 5'6" | 170 lbs | RB Millard South | 2024 State NE | Millard South | 5’6″ 170 lbs
Versatile running back who is also a threat as a receiver. Nolan was very impressive at the Battle 7v7 tournament, in which he was a huge part of Millard South’s championship victory. He is extremely twitchy and shifty in the open field, with the ability to make defenders miss with ease. In his first season as a starter, Nolan finished the year with 775 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Very strong player—lower body strength keeps him driving through contact (510 squat)! Legit track speed with a recorded 4.5 40-yard time.
Brady Bousquet Brady Bousquet 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB Elkhorn South | 2024 State NE | Elkhorn South | 5’8″ 180 lbs
Elkhorn South prospects have been receiving a lot of attention this offseason, with multiple players receiving offers already. One player that should be up next is running back Brady Bousquet Brady Bousquet 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB Elkhorn South | 2024 State NE . Brady is ready to take over the RB1 duties this season after rushing for 364 yards and five touchdowns on only 44 carries as a junior. When you watch Brady’s tape, the thing that jumps out right away is his agility and quick twitch reactions. Bousquet has great vision that allows him to flow to opening lanes and then has the burst and acceleration to explode through those gaps. Brady utilizes his cuts very well and can make defenders look foolish in open space. Massive year in store for Brady!
WR:
Zander Reuling Zander Reuling 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Kearney | 2024 State NE | Kearney | 5’10” 165 lbs
One part of one of the best WR duos in the state, Kearney’s Zander Reuling Zander Reuling 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Kearney | 2024 State NE , is still surprisingly flying under the radar after an electric junior season. Zander finished his junior year with 37 receptions for 643 yards, eight receiving touchdowns, 300+ additional all-purpose yards, and two touchdowns. He’s a home run threat whether you send him deep or off a quick dump-off pass with his elite speed. He is very agile and shifty with the ball in his hands with the ability to make defenders miss. As a junior, Zander earned First Team All-Region and All-State honors, along with carrying a 3.85 GPA.
Brant Benes Brant Benes 5'11" | 155 lbs | WR Boone Central | 2024 State NE | Boone Central | 5’11” 155 lbs
Brant was a possible selection on offense or defense and can even contribute on special teams as well. Brant finished his junior season with 406 receiving yards, 846 all-purpose yards, and six total touchdowns. Through Brant’s junior season and several camps, he’s proven to be a top-tier route runner with the ability to create separation from defenders. He has the speed to threaten vertically and can work short and underneath routes for quick targets. Great hands receiver- follows the ball all the way through to completion. 4.68 40-speed, but he plays much faster than that during game time, as he can break away from defenders when he gets to open space. Tons of upside!
Karter Lee Karter Lee 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Kearney | 2024 State NE | Kearney | 5’11” 170 lbs
Somebody has to offer the Bearcat receiving duo ASAP! Kearney’s second-leading receiver from last season, Karter Lee Karter Lee 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Kearney | 2024 State NE , will also be back to terrorize defenses. Karter ended his junior season with 30 receptions, 540 receiving yards, eight touchdowns, 237 kick return yards, 18 tackles, and three fumble recoveries, culminating in an All-state selection. Karter is a smooth route runner that can separate from defenders with ease and has a nice burst after the catch. His 3.8 GPA translates to the field with his high football IQ and ability to read defenses to find the weak spots. Lee does a great job coming back to the ball and is as sure-handed as they come. A real mystery to me why Karter and Zander are still waiting on their first offers.
TE:
Caden Kapels Caden Kapels 6'5" | 210 lbs | TE Columbus | 2024 State NE | Columbus | 6’5″ 210 lbs
In such a deep class of tight ends, it’s surprising a player with Caden’s measurables and tape is still unoffered. Columbus’ Caden Kapels Caden Kapels 6'5" | 210 lbs | TE Columbus | 2024 State NE has the frame of a next-level tight end at 6’5″ and 210 pounds, with room to add more mass to his frame. He has great awareness of weak zones in coverage and how to exploit them with his massive QB-friendly catch radius. Kapels also proved to be an effective blocker that will only get better as he continues to add size to his frame. Under the radar gem!
Dale Hansen Dale Hansen 6'1" | 200 lbs | TE Millard West | 2024 State NE | Millard West | 6’1″ 210 lbs
Dale is an interesting TE prospect that can be used in several ways. He’s a great in-line blocker that plays, moves, and finishes blocks like a lineman—a very physical player. You can also take advantage of his route running and catching abilities by flexing him out as a WR/TE hybrid, where he can exploit mismatches against smaller nickel corners and slower linebackers. Reliable hands. I’m looking forward to seeing if Dale gets utilized more in the passing game this season.
OL:
Bennett Stock Bennett Stock 5'11" | 240 lbs | OL Gretna | 2024 State NE | Gretna | 5’11” 240 lbs
Smart and consistent would be how I describe Gretna’s long-tenured center, Bennett Stock Bennett Stock 5'11" | 240 lbs | OL Gretna | 2024 State NE . Bennett will be heading into his third season as a varsity starter for the high-octane Dragon offense and has played in two consecutive state championship games. Bennett is a stout player with a strong base and powerful leg drive. Although on the smaller end, Stock does a good job using his leverage and strength to overpower opponents. He has solid footwork and can move laterally very well. Well-coached, big game experience, can build great chemistry with his QB… major steal at this point in the process!
Jack Wing | Omaha Westside | 6’0″ 215 lbs
Westside’s Jack Wing is a well-coached player that goes into his third year as a starter with tons of big-game experience. He’s been a stalwart at center during the Warrior’s last two trips to state. Jack is a fundamentally sound player that does all the little things right, from his footwork to hand placement. He does a great job asserting his dominance by winning the leverage battle early and then using his strength to drive defenders back.
Reid Kelly Reid Kelly 6'4" | 245 lbs | OL Grand Island | 2024 State NE | Grand Island | 6’4″ 250 lbs
Grand Island’s Reid Kelly Reid Kelly 6'4" | 245 lbs | OL Grand Island | 2024 State NE is a player to keep an eye on this year after a dominant junior season in the trenches. He split time between guard and center and managed to do a great job in both roles. Kelly flashes top-tier athleticism for his size, very mobile, clean footwork, and a mean streak to finish off blocks in the dirt. Reid uses his size and length very well when trying to create space between himself and the defender. Kelly is an “all-effort” player that you will regularly see blocking 10-20 yards downfield. Still flying under the radar, but should see offers fly in once more teams catch wind!
Gage Wolter Gage Wolter 5'10" | 255 lbs | OL Beatrice | 2024 State NE | Beatrice | 5’10” 255 lbs
Gage jumped on our radar before the March update and has continued to push his stock through a series of great camps, including the Prospect Tour showcase. Wolter has shown that although “undersized,” he can hold his own against anyone. He has a strong base that helps him anchor down and not give up any ground. Gage uses his hands very well, delivering strong, forceful jabs and then working his way inside to gain leverage. Great leg drive- always looking to finish! Gage earned Team Captain honors as a junior showing his leadership abilities and ended the season as an All-state honorable mention.
Prestyn Oglesby Prestyn Oglesby 6'2" | 260 lbs | OL Lincoln Pius X | 2024 State NE | Lincoln Pius X | 6’2″ 260 lbs
A key returner on a physical Pius X offensive line, senior Prestyn Oglesby Prestyn Oglesby 6'2" | 260 lbs | OL Lincoln Pius X | 2024 State NE will be back to maul defenders. Oglesby played a majority of his season at guard while also slipping out to tackle on occasion. Prestyn moves very well for his size, moving up the second level with ease, great lateral burst on pull plays, and consistent footwork on every play. He loves to bring the fight to his opponent as a run blocker and will play through the whistle. Smart and effective with his hand use. Prestyn’s junior efforts earned him Academic All-Conference and All-City Honorable Mention honors, showing he can get it done in the classroom as well.
Aaron Sibley Aaron Sibley 6'2" | 220 lbs | OL Gretna | 2024 State NE | Gretna | 6’2″ 220 lbs
Aaron is another tough Gretna offensive lineman, surprisingly flying under the radar! Although Sibley will likely play guard at the next level, he is a versatile blocker that can also be bounced to tackle and hold his own. Aaron has great bend in his hips and stays consistent with his pad level. Sibley shows nice explosiveness out of his stance and can get a great initial push at the snap. Aaron also has the quickness to pick up second-level defenders, and he can gain a lot of momentum when he gets going.
