We know that the state of Florida is always home to plenty of football talent, and for that reason the job is 365 days of discovering new talent. Players who fly under the radar and are often overlooked.
Over the next few weeks – as we countdown to the 2023 season – there are a number of gifted prospects who we will keep an eye on and promote.
With college coaches watching what we put out every day, this is another opportunity for them to see more talent that has not received the spotlight they deserve.
Once again today, we bring you five players to write down and keep an eye on this season.
2024 – Zander Altieri, DB/RB, 5-10, 180, Clearwater Calvary Christian. Playing just four games last season because of a broken ankle, here is a very athletic football player that has a chance to be special, and this year will be vital to his recruitment. The one thing that you must love about his game, especially on the defensive side of the ball, is his ability to be around the ball on every play. He has instincts and playmaking abilities that you notice right away. He is also a lot faster than you may think. His athleticism goes beyond football as he is also a track & lacrosse standout, and his work in the classroom (3.5 GPA) is another major selling point.
2024 – Ryland Bragg Ryland Bragg 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Pensacola Catholic | 2024 FL , OL, 6-3, 290, Pensacola Catholic. There are many ways to measure the production of an offensive lineman, and after watching this quality talent perform, you shake your head at why more colleges are not on this young man. From his center position he makes it tough for defensive linemen to gain an advantage. He is quick, strong and a lot more athletic than many believe. He uses his hands well. His ability to not only pass block but get out on running plays is something you must be impressed with. His work in the classroom is also very important – as his 3.5 GPA will back up.
2025 – Hassan Corley, QB/Athlete, 6-0, 185, Tampa Freedom. This two-sport athlete brings so much to the table for this program, and as this coming season unfolds, you will hear a lot more about him. He reads defenses, shows amazing poise for someone with limited experience and can move the chains with his legs which is very important to his future. Like so many prospects who are flying beneath the radar, his work in the classroom (4.0 GPA) will also open up many doors.
2024 – Braden Joyner, QB/DB, 6-0, 180, Brooksville Central. When you talk about prospects many college coaches are looking for players who are productive. You can have all the stars and accolades you want, if you do not get it done on the field, it will catch up to you – quickly. Here is a productive student/athlete, who not only brings his “A” game in the classroom (4.0 GPA), but also as an offensive force, putting up numbers like 1,800 yards and 31 touchdowns. If colleges really want someone who is the total package, they need to pay more attention to what this young man brings to the table!
2024 – Brian Lane, Athlete, 5-9, 165, Plantation. On a team that received a number of new playmakers in the off-season, here is definitely one that you need to keep an eye on this coming season. During the spring he showed just how special he will be at the receiver position with game-breaking ability, speed and a knowledge of how to play this game an become a leader that the Colonels will need. This is a team that has so many prospects, this is certainly someone who has a chance to be a vital cog this coming season!
