I have scouted a couple of these guys over the course of the summer at camp events and kept up with the recruiting of a couple of them on social media.
I am always on the lookout for camps, combines, or practices to attend. Also, I am working on my fall schedule of events so if you want me to attend an event feel free to reach out via email or Twitter.
With Kansas High Schools taking a week off from sports it will be a good time to catch up on my film watching and provide some exposure to athletes as we head into the final full month of the “summer offseason” before practices start in August.
So here are five ranked players all looking for big fall seasons in order to achieve personal and team goals, as well as to improve their recruiting stock.
Martell Buchanan Martell Buchanan 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Blue Valley | 2024 State KS , DB, 6’2”, 180, Blue Valley (No. 41)
Buchanan who is affectionally known as “Hot Sauce” has multiple offers from Division I programs heading into his senior season. He is a quick defensive back who can cover and play the ball. He plays at the safety position, but could also be a corner. The Tiger defensive back will be looking to increase his recruiting stock heading into the 2023 season.
Cole Webber Cole Webber 6'4" | 205 lbs | TE Ellsworth | 2024 State KS , TE, 6’4”, 195, Ellsworth (No. 83)
Webber has had a busy off-season. He played 7v7 with the Kansas Colts this spring and recently competed in the Kansas Wesleyan University Team Camp. Webber is a tall target with excellent speed. He could also play linebacker at the collegiate level.
Zayden Martinez Zayden Martinez 6'3" | 205 lbs | WR Liberal | 2024 State KS , WR, 6’3”, 205, Liberal (No. 85)
Martinez has multiple offers to play football at the college level after graduation. He has offers from Division II and NAIA schools in the Midwest. The Liberal prospect posted solid numbers during his junior campaign. He made 28 receptions for 611 yards for the Redskins in 2022. He caught 10 balls for touchdowns. He can rise up and catches fade passes in the end zone or break a tackle anywhere on the field and take it to the house.
Brady Rapp Brady Rapp 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB Maize South | 2024 State KS , LB, 6’0”, 195, Maize South (No. 86)
Rapp is a physical player and enjoys hitting ball carriers. He finished his junior season with 95 total tackles for the Mavericks. He also has a knack for creating turnovers. He had one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one interception during the 2022 season. He can cover, tackle, and pressure the quarterback.
Jeremiah Harris Jeremiah Harris 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB Wichita NW | 2024 State KS , DB, 5’11”, 160, Wichita NW (No. 111)
Harris plays with speed and grit. He has been improving his skills in summer league 7-v-7 action with the Grizzlies, which I saw personally in June. During his junior season, he had 32 total tackles and three pass breakups. His speed could be utilized on special team units at the next level. He plays against solid players in practice every day as the Northwest Grizzlies year-in-and-year-out produce college-level football prospects.
