The 2024 class is one of the most loaded classes in recent memory and will get to take over one last season this year. Today, we highlight the preseason top 25 players of the class to keep an eye on. We are expecting big things from each guy on this list!
Having yet to make his college decision, the dominant defensive end out of Lake Cormorant has a strong case to be a Mr Football winner if he repeats his success from last season. Franklin is one of the best defensive prospects to come out of Mississippi in recent years.
From unknown to state champion Florida commit, Jamonta Waller Jamonta Waller 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL Picayune | 2024 State MS has had a massive rise since he entered high school. The dominant EDGE player is set to guide the Picayune defense in his final season and leave his mark on the school record books. Waller has rare athleticism for the position that doesn’t come around often.

A once Tennessee commit, Harrell elected over summer to stay home and play for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Harrell has a rare blend of size, speed, and ball skills that makes him one of the most special wide receiver prospects in recent Mississippi history. Watch as Harrell has a case for Mr Football in his classification this season.
Braylon Burnside Braylon Burnside 6’1″ | 180 lbs | ATH Starkville | 2024 State MS has been in the spotlight since his freshman season. This year will be no different. The do it all receiver/defensive back and state champion will look to put up huge numbers in 7A this season before joining his hometown college team.
Regarded as one of the best interior defensive linemen in the class, Kamron Beavers Kamron Beavers 6’3″ | 320 lbs | DL Bay Springs | 2024 State MS is a massive presence in the middle that can rush the passer and shut down the run. Beavers committed to the Rebels earlier this summer and will anchor their defense for years to come.
The Florida commit and West Point superstar has his eyes set on a massive year ahead. West Point has always been about the ground game and Daniels provides explosive speed and game changing ability every time he carries the football.
Taking snaps all across the offense the last 3 years, Daniel Hill Daniel Hill 6’1″ | 220 lbs | WR Meridian | 2024 State MS has carried a big load for Meridian. While currently undecided on his future college program. Hill has plenty of suitors all across the southeast.
One of the elite pass rushing talents on the coast, Jeffery Rush Jeffery Rush 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL Pascagoula | 2024 State MS will lead a Pascagoula team primed for success this season. Rush, an Ole Miss commit, is set to be one of the Rebels premier ends for the next four years upon graduation.
A lockdown corner on a loaded Oak Grove defense, PJ Woodland PJ Woodland 6’0″ | 160 lbs | DB Oak Grove | 2024 State MS can make a serious case for one of the best defensive players in 7A this season. Woodland committed to Mississippi State earlier this summer and is bound for early playing time when he arrives on campus.
A powerful interior defensive lineman, Hibbler is a defensive coordinators dream of a 3 tech. Hibbler is a massive prospect who can move well for his size and cause havoc in opposing teams backfields.
An athletic tackle with good size and length, Isaiah Autry Isaiah Autry 6’6″ | 280 lbs | OL Itawamba Agricultural | 2024 State MS is a rare offensive line prospect that doesn’t come around every year. Committed to Oklahoma, Autry will add much needed OL talent to a Sooner team that needs to load up before joining the SEC.
Pope was one of the most dynamic players in Mississippi this past season, making huge plays all across the South Panola defense. He blew up onto the scene following his junior year with his first offer coming from Alabama.
Chris Davis Chris Davis 6’0″ | 175 lbs | RB Picayune | 2024 State MS has played the 1b back behind Oregon signee Dante Dowdell the past 3 seasons, but will get a chance to carry the offense this year. Davis has great speed and burst and can do it all out of the backfield. There is a reason a school like Stanford came all the way out to Mississippi for his talent.
Another Stanford commit, Ziron Brown Ziron Brown 6’4″ | 255 lbs | OL Bay | 2024 State MS is a dominant offensive line prospect that can play either guard or tackle at the next level. With power and athleticism like his, it is easy to see why is such a highly recruited small school prospect.

A do-it-all athlete for Saint Martin, Noreel White Noreel White 6’1″ | 180 lbs | WR St. Martin | 2024 State MS will look to produce even bigger numbers this upcoming season than he did last year. White has a great chance at being a possible Mr Football contender in 7A this year. The Arkansas commit is a dynamic player who could project on either side of the football.
One of the state’s best stories from the 2022 season, Trey Petty Trey Petty 6’1″ | 190 lbs | QB Starkville | 2024 State MS is one of those QBs with the “it” factor. With a special arm and additional rushing ability, Petty is the top quarterback in the state and will look to continue dominating as a senior.
A two way stud on the offensive and defensive line, Will Echoles Will Echoles 6’4″ | 305 lbs | OL Houston | 2024 State MS is a massive prospect who could end up being the lineman of the year. Echoles is committed to Ole Miss and could contribute on either offense or defense depending on need of the team.

Earning the attention of major college programs across the country this offseason, Kobe Williams Kobe Williams 6’6″ | 300 lbs | OL Amory | 2024 State MS elected to stay in the southeast and commit to Memphis relatively early in the process. Williams is a future starter at tackle for the Tigers due to his size and athleticism combo.

Committed to Texas A&M, Anthony Maddox Anthony Maddox 6’2″ | 185 lbs | QB Oak Grove | 2024 State MS has some of the best pure mechanics in the 2024 quarterback class. With his arm talent and accuracy, Maddox will look to put it all together this season and put Oak Grove in a position to win a state championship.
Fred Clark Fred Clark 6’2″ | 205 lbs | LB Winona | 2024 State MS has been another guy that has had alot of eyes on him for a while now. It is easy to see when turning on the tape – linebackers with size and speed are hard to find. Clark is committed to Mississippi State and will look to play early due to the Bulldogs graduating 2 seniors next year.
Another Winona player and Mississippi State commit, TJ Lockhart TJ Lockhart 6’6″ | 365 lbs | OL Winona | 2024 State MS is one of the largest offensive line prospects in the country at 6’6″ 365. The massive rising senior has good athleticism and a ton of strength behind him as well.
A dominant pass rusher, Caleb Moore Caleb Moore 6’3″ | 250 lbs | DL Oak Grove | 2024 State MS is a member of the loaded Oak Grove defense that will give teams fits this season. Moore elected to stay close to home at Southern Miss despite having attention from larger programs around the country. His hand usage and ability to bend are a sight to see.
A Souther Miss commit, Aaron Travis Aaron Travis 6’4″ | 250 lbs | DL Grenada | 2024 State MS is an explosive defensive lineman who can move all across a front. He has the strength and hands to play on the interior or the bend and pass rush ability to play end. Travis is an extremely well rounded prospect who has been known for some time now.
