Mississippi is a state known for having some excited football in the smaller classifications. 2A football in Mississippi is very exciting. Let’s check it out.
Charleston
You can expect this team to be ready to do some great things this season. Last season they fell short to Scott Central in the state championship. They are returning Deondre Riley Deondre Riley 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Charleston | 2024 State MS and Marcus Flowers. Those two guys are going to be ready to lead this team on both sides of the football. Riley is a senior who is looking to see his stock rise this season.
Scott Central Rebels
Scott Central is a team that is loaded every season. It is interesting to see what they will have up their sleeve this season. I’m pretty sure we will see them making another deep run in the playoffs this season. It will be interesting to see if they have that explosive passing game this season.
Raleigh Lions
The Lions have moved down from 3A. They are now bouncing around the 2A south. This is going to be interesting to see. The Lions are without Suntarine Perkins this season. He was a major force on their team last season. Raleigh looks to be dominant again this season.
Philadelphia Tornadoes
Philly is going to have some guys back ready to play football this season. This should turn out to be a year they go deep in the playoffs. They have guys like Bernard Parker Bernard Parker 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB Philadelphia | 2025 State MS , Dee Burnside Dee Burnside 6'1" | 155 lbs | WR Philadelphia | 2024 State MS and Keathan Graham Keathan Graham 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Philadelphia | 2024 State MS holding things down for them. It should be a very fun season for these guys.
