Here is a look at some of the top 2024 defensive lineman in the state of Idaho:
Caldwell is next in the long line of dominant defensive lineman from Rigby. Caldwell has a strong base that allows him to anchor against blocks and is able to shed offensive players with ease. After transfering from Hillcrest, the senior shows the ability to set the edge and is hard to reach block with his quick first step. He has a strong punch that allows him to create seperation and then reacts quickly to make plays in the backfield. He is strong off the edge with a legitimate bull rush that gets knock back and allows him to influence the quarterback. He has the ability to bend the edge with good speed and has elite lateral agility that allows him to run quarterbacks down. He is primed for a dominant senior season and will be one of the top players on everyone scouting reports.
Highlights
Young is a really solid 3 tech from Owyhee that uses his quick first step to make plays all over the front line. He does a great job of getting to half a man against the offensive line in order to defeat blocks. He does a good job of shedding offensive lineman to make plays in the backfield. Where he excels is in his pass rush ability, where he has a very advance tool bag. He has a variety of different counters and uses his quickness to his advantage where he can beat offensive guards with speed. He anchors well against down blocks and is able to defeat double teams or hold his ground to help out his teammates in the backend. Young is ready to go in his senior season and will be a name to know this year as one of the next top lineman to come out of Owyhee.
Ndaitouroum is one of the top players regardless of position for Centennial. He is a dominant player that can really affect the game on both sides of the football. Where he is most dominant is at his defensive line position where he uses he elite athleticism to make plays all over the field. He has a solid base that allows him to constantly hold the point of attack and eat up double teams. He is hard to move and doesn’t get down blocked easily but is quick enough to make plays from the backside. He is able to beat players with a variety of different moves but he does a really good job of converting speed to power and will be hard to block no matter where he lines up across the defensive line. He is one to watch for sure as a bright spot on the Centennial defense and team.
