Where are they ranked now?
Prep Redzone has all the details below…
Christian Garrett Christian Garrett 6'4" | 285 lbs | DL Prince Avenue Christian | 2025 State GA – Prince Avenue Christian
A breakout defensive lineman to know about, Garrett is a dynamic Athens-area defender who really came on this spring. After dominating at the Milton MVP Camp in March, the 6-foot-4 285-pounder has seen his stock continue to soar over the last several months. Garrett has a lean frame with big-time plenty of quickness and burst off the snap. A good athlete who can shoot the gaps and cause chaos against the run, Garrett’s length also allows him to shed blocks and attack the quarterback in the backfield. This up and coming defender is coming off a strong sophomore season for the Wolverines where he made 53 tackles, three sacks and five TFLs. Due to his potential, size, and athleticism, you can expect those numbers to increase in a big way in 2023 as a junior. He has easy D1 size with a 83-inch wingspan, which has led to offers from Georgia, Clemson, among others this year. Now, he’s ranked in the latest Prep Redzone update, coming in at No. 49 overall in the state. Look for that ranking to increase more and more over time.
Walter Mathis Jr. Walter Mathis Jr. 6'3" | 285 lbs | DL Calvary Day | 2025 State GA – Calvary Day
A major Savannah-area prospect on the rise, Mathis Jr is a big, athletic defender with easy Power 5 size at 6-foot-3 285-pounds. One of the most productive defensive linemen in the 2025 class not only in the Savannah area, but across Georgia, Mathis Jr. flashed big play ability all season long, ending his sophomore season with an eye-opening 50 tackles, 22 TFLs, six sacks and 12 more hits on the quarterback. He was an offenses’ worst nightmare last year, and he still hasn’t come close to his potential. The Calvary Day standout is lighting quick off the snap for his size who brings some versatility to the table as well. His quickness and burst is easy to notice, and his motor is a big reason why he is now ranked as the No. 41 overall prospect in the state. He added a major offer from the Clemson Tigers this summer and should see a lot more come his way over the next 12 months. Like Garrett, Mathis Jr. could see his ranking increase more and more with a big junior season this fall.
Kevin Wynn Kevin Wynn 6'4" | 320 lbs | DL Greene County | 2025 State GA – Greene County
One of the fastest-rising defenders in the state, Wynn is a small-town defender with game-changing ability from the inside. He’s big, powerful, and explosive off the ball, allowing him to wreck plays in the backfield before they get going. At 6-foot-4 320-pounds, he’s an absolute bully who demands a double team. He’s raw, but his size, quickness, and motor has made him one of the biggest and best defensive line prospects in Georgia for the 2025 class. As a sophomore last year, the big Greene County defender made 45 tackles and 18 TFLs. He lived in the backfield and has a monster junior season ahead of him. As he continues to develop, look for more offers and hype to come his way. He might be unstoppable this upcoming season, and he already owns an offer from the in-state Georgia Bulldogs. He was easy to add in this latest update and he’s now ranked as the No. 44 overall prospect in the state.
