Continue ReadingTwitter has proven to be an extremely valuable tool for recruits. Here at Prep Redzone, we like to use social media to our advantage to broaden our coverage and give more spotlight to as many high school athletes in the country as possible. Here, I will go through some Twitter film submissions and deliver some quick evals for a few intriguing prospects.
Akeem White II – 2024 – DL – Auburn
- Plays with good pad level
- Does a good job of anchoring in the run game and not getting flushed down the line.
- Strong arms. Can rip through and manhandle blockers when he gets his hands on them.
- Showcases good closing speed and explosiveness when closing in on the QB.
Ashton White – 2024 – LB – Auburn
- Listed as OLB/DE, I project him as a standup LB.
- Shows good explosion and speed from the second level.
- Can run sideline to sideline. Also efficient as a blitzer as he can get to the QB in a hurry.
- Plays with little to no hesitation. He is locked on the QB and doesn’t lose track of football when he has to navigate through traffic.
Braylon Garrett Braylon Garrett 5'8" | 165 lbs | DB Minor | 2024 State AL – 2024 – DB – Minor
- Pesky defender with outstanding instincts
- Has the speed to run with most receivers downfield
- Breaks on the football aggressively and tackles well for a smaller defender
- Likely projects better as a N or S where he can come downfield aggressively more often
Deontae Hester Deontae Hester 6'3" | 265 lbs | DL Autaugaville | 2024 State AL – 2024 – OL/DL – Autaugaville
- Plays with high energy and a high motor on both sides of the ball.
- Has sneaky athleticism. Has enough speed to peel out as a blocker as well as chase after the QB.
- Has a strong lower body and typically wins with leverage when locked against an opponent.
- Projects best at DL where he can play a little more unhinged.
Kai Young Kai Young 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB American Christian Academy | 2025 AL – 2025 – QB – American Christian Academy
- Athletic. Can get creative when the play breaks down. Is a touchdown threat once he breaks the line of scrimmage.
- Has the arm strength to drive the ball while drifting and while on the run.
- Quick, decisive decision maker that shows the ability to go through his progressions and look off DBs.
- Plays in a scheme that gives him experience making all kinds of throws to different levels of the field.
