Notable rising seniors all over Louisiana shared their plans to a mix of colleges from a pair of in-state schools to a pair of Power-Fives, a service academy and another highly regarded academy institution somewhat up the east coast.
Hutch Swilley — 5-11, 200 RB — St. Thomas More (2024) —> Navy
The Midshipmen landed one of the top handful or so of top rising senior running backs when the St. Thomas More star announced his commitment over other Ivy League and Group-of-Five options. Swilley is a productive back — with nearly 1,000 yards as a junior — with good size and speed and fitting character and leadership traits for the program.
Hubert Caliste Hubert Caliste 6'4" | 235 lbs | TE St. Augustine | 2024 State LA Jr. — 6-5, 235 TE — St. Augustine (2024) —> Indiana
“Biggie” became the fourth commitment of the month for his Purple Knights’ talented senior class when he announced his pledge to Indiana on the heels of a weekend visit — joining defensive back Charles Gurley III Charles Gurley III 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB St. Augustine | 2024 State LA (South Alabama), wide receiver Joshua Jackson Joshua Jackson 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR St. Augustine | 2024 State LA (Tulane) and running back Moses Gray Jr. Moses Gray Jr. 6'0" | 200 lbs | RB St. Augustine | 2024 State LA (Marshall). One of Louisiana’s top tight end prospects in the rising senior class will join speedy running back Jaylin Lucas and defensive end J’Mari Monette in Bloomington, Ind.
Gabriel Reliford Gabriel Reliford 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Evangel Christian | 2024 State LA — 6-2, 250 DL/LB — Evangel Christian (2024) —> Texas A&M
Fresh off a visit to College Station, one of Louisiana’s fastest risers this spring announced his pledge to the Aggies over a long list of Power-Five offers and an all-SEC top three that also included Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. The converted running back has bulked up to nearly 250 pounds, while still running a 10.9-second 100-meter dash during spring track season and working hard at and taking pride in his coverage and all-around game. Reliford is another promising Texas A&M victory across the border in Shreveport.
Damian Reed Damian Reed 6'2" | 270 lbs | OL Iowa | 2024 State LA — 6-2, 270 OL — Iowa (2024) —> Southeastern Louisiana
Southeastern Louisiana, a top-two finisher in the Southland Conference standings each of the past three falls, has done a solid job in recent years identifying and landing solid in-state talent — a mixture of under-the-radar finds and steals the Lions manage to keep from out-of-state programs — on which to lay their foundation. And the nasty, versatile and aptly nicknamed “Pancake” would be one of the more heavily recruited wins among a good run of offensive linemen in that span.
Lamar Bolden Lamar Bolden 5'9" | 155 lbs | DB East Ascension | 2024 State LA Jr. — 5-9, 180 DB — East Ascension (2024) —> Davidson
The Wildcats appear poised to bring their four Louisiana prospect in as many classes to Davidson after more than a decade without having one on their roster. Bolden plays disciplined and balanced and, while a bit undersized, is competitive and physical and hasn’t shied away from contact or moments from his early opportunities both for his Spartans and on the 7-on-7 circuit.
Nate Green Nate Green 6'4" | 245 lbs | OL West Monroe | 2024 State LA — 6-4, 245 TE/OL — West Monroe (2024) —> Louisiana Tech
The busy month capped with an intriguing local signing in northeast Louisiana, as the Bulldogs tapped back into a nearby West Monroe program where they have had notable success through the years. The Rebels’ tight end made a sizable leap in Prep Redzone Louisiana’s most recent rankings update earlier this year because of his potential to play a true offensive line role at the next level, and he performed well there this offseason, including a strong showing against top competition at LSU’s elite prospects camp in mid-June.
