The Bingham Miners travel to Highland, UT to square off against the Lone Peak Knights on August 10 on a Thursday night. Both teams are loaded with talented Prospects, let’s a take a look on who to look out for.
Lone Peak OL: Austin Pay Austin Pay 6'7" | 270 lbs | OL Lone Peak | 2025 State UT vs. Bingham DL: Will Van Cott Will Van Cott 6'4" | 235 lbs | DL Bingham | 2025 State UT
Paye is a highly recruited Prospect receiving offers from Oregon, Oklahoma and UCLA. Has bend in his 6’7 frame and be explosive off the ball and shows he has feet and hands to be a solid in pass protection. He’ll go up against Van Cott, who has shown he can be a tough defender against the run with awareness and strength to fight off blocks. This will be an interesting match up to watch at the LOS.
Lone Peak HB: Brooks Wilde Brooks Wilde 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Lone Peak | 2024 State UT vs. Bingham LB: Tyson McBride
Wilde is an explosive runner between the tackles and will have more roles to play in the Knight’s offense. Looking for him on defense will be McBride, who is an athletic linebacker with some explosiveness as well and returning as the team’s leading tackler from last season. This will be match up to watch in the open field when these two meet.
Bingham WR: Carson Stettler vs. Lone Peak DB: Pono Ah Quin Pono Ah Quin 5'9" | 170 lbs | DB Lone Peak | 2024 State UT
Stettler is the Miner’s Slot/TE in the Miner’s offense. He’s an athletic player with big play ability to catch the ball in flight and adjust. Stettler has already received an offer Carroll College . He’ll go up against Ah Quinn, who is a physical defensive back with quickness and speed. Who will win in this matchup ? tune in on August 10th to find out.
Bingham WR: Hunter Mehn vs. Lone Peak DB: Matthias Nawahine Matthias Nawahine 6'0" | 150 lbs | DB Lone Peak | 2024 State UT
Mehn returns as one of the productive players in the Miner’s receiving group. He’s an athletic player that will look to be a deep threat with his speed to go deep and adjust to the ball in flight. He’ll have a competitive match up against Nawahine, an athletic corner with quickness and closing speed to be a playmaker for the Knights. Be sure to catch this match up on the perimeter.
Bingham OL: Nick Hallock Nick Hallock 6'5" | 230 lbs | OL Bingham | 2025 State UT vs. Lone Peak DL: Bott Mulitalo
Hallock is an upcoming Prospect with a lot of upside going into this season. His physicality in the Miner’s run game will be needed this season. Has good size and feet in pass protection and will need it against Mulitalo. He shows burst and UOH as a pass rusher and will continue to build off an productive freshman year. Mulitalo has already getting looks from Washington State, Utah and Arizona. This match up at the LOS is something you shouldn’t miss out on.
