Jamar Owens Jamar Owens 6'1" | 175 lbs | DB Jonesboro | 2026 State GA – DB – Jonesboro
An excellent defensive back prospect and one of the better overall athletes in the Atlanta area for the 2026 class, Owens is a big play waiting to happen with good size and length for his age at 6-foot-1 170-pounds. Owens was a dynamic playmaker for Jonesboro as a freshman last year, showing he’s a reliable run defender as well as a playmaking ball-hawk in coverage. He played like a potential “lockdown” defensive back last year who made an eye-opening 90 tackles last year as a freshman, flashing easy Power 5 potential consistently throughout the 2022 season. A true playmaker defensively, Owens made at least seven tackles in nine games last year while picking off five passes in coverage. He was as productive as any freshman defender in the area and bound for a monster sophomore season in 2023. He’s ranked in the latest update as the No. 26 overall prospect in Georgia and the No. 2 defensive back. He holds offers from Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, among others.
Jalon Copeland Jalon Copeland 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Valdosta | 2026 State GA – Valdosta
A South Georgia defensive back coming off a tremendous freshman season, Copeland is a long, athletic cornerback at 6-foot-0 175-pounds with easy Power 5 potential down the road. A big-time athlete with impressive ball skills, Copeland has the ability to play on both sides of the ball, but his future will still likely be in the secondary. No matter where he’s lined up, Copeland is a threat to make a big play. He’s a smooth runner, he’s agile, and brings plenty of speed to Valdosta’s offense and defense. As a defensive back, he shows quick feet, smooth hips and impressive awareness for his age. He’s a natural playmaker with quickness, instincts, and the ability to catch the ball at it’s highest point. The Valdosta standout isn’t afraid of contact either. He’s now ranked as the No. 60 prospect in Georgia and the No. 4 CB. With a big sophomore season this fall, look for his ranking to rise in a big way.
Javion Romer Javion Romer 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Tift County | 2026 State GA – Tift County
Romer may be on the smaller side this second, but make no mistake, he’s a tough, secure tackler with plenty of toughness. An above-average athlete, Romer has no problem coming up and making a big tackle and helping out in the run game. He’s tough for his size, doesn’t shy away from contact, and more than held his own against some impressive upperclassmen in South Georgia. He needs to continue working on building some muscle or mass, but his ability to tackle in the open field and run down the ball-carrier makes him a South Georgia defensive back to keep a close eye on in the coming years. He’s a young defensive back on the rise, and he has a chance to have a big-time sophomore season for Tift County in 2023. He appears to be technically sound in coverage, so look for him to make plenty of plays on the football in the coming years. He’s now ranked as the No. 120 prospect and the No. 10 overall CB in Georgia for the 2026 class.
