3 WELL-KNOWN RETURNERS
Fred Robertson Fred Robertson 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Warren Easton | 2024 State LA — 5-9, 180 RB — Warren Easton (2024)
The Eagles’ speedster headlines the returning offense after his prolific, all-state junior campaign of 2,151 yards and 32 touchdowns on 245 carries — averages of 8.8 yards per attempt and a score every 7.7 attempts. And Robertson is among Louisiana’s top tier of running back prospects in the rising seniors class with an offer list that includes Louisiana Tech, ULM, Memphis, Indiana, Southeastern Louisiana, Grambling State, Southern, Troy, Arkansas State, Toledo, Alabama State, Marshall and Southern Miss. His combination of strength and balance help make him a potentially physical runner at his size with his ability to bounce off contact and pick up additional yardage, and he has also shown good receiving skills that should help make him a well-rounded weapon at the next level.
Wallace Foster IV Wallace Foster IV 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB Warren Easton | 2024 State LA — 5-11, 160 DB — Warren Easton (2024)
The Eagles will get one of the state’s highest-profile 2024 prospects back this fall after a junior season lost to injury. The LSU-committed defensive back — a three-phase player for Easton — was one of the first members of the class to blow up on the recruiting trail as a freshman. Fans not only in Mid-City, but around the state figure to be excited to see him back on the field. And the contagious energy he brings to the field will be a welcomed boost back to team on Friday nights.
Antonio Taylor Jr Antonio Taylor Jr 5'10" | 205 lbs | DB Warren Easton | 2024 State LA . — 5-10, 205 DB — Warren Easton (2024)
Foster rejoins a senior-strong secondary that includes Taylor as another particularly veteran standout who earned early playing time for the Eagles as an underclassman. The thickly built, physical safety plays fast with his quick, decisive reads and good ball skills to consistently make big impact plays on interceptions, breakups or explosive tackles.
2 BREAKOUT CANDIDATES
Greg Donaldson — 5-11, 180 QB/ATH — Warren Easton (2024)
After an all-district selection this fall as a defensive back, the rising senior takes full rein of the offense to succeed graduated three-year starter Keddrick Connelly. Donaldson, also a basketball standout for the Eagles, brings a more dynamic rushing threat to the backfield to complement Robertson and company in the ground game, while also having the arm and trust of the staff and team to continue to push the ball downfield to Kyon Holiday, Stephen Stewart, Davon Edwards, Foster if he returns to the offense as well and other targets through the air.
Damon Joseph — 5-10, 160 DB — Warren Easton (2024)
Another versatile defensive back in a rising senior class with Foster, Taylor, corner Cairo Moore and safety Ivin Clark that help lead a strong secondary that, even with Donaldson focusing on leading the offense, should fit well into the program’s impressive lineage in the position group. Joseph can play outside or move into more of a nickel or safety role depending on packages, Foster’s timeline and promising rising sophomore Hayward Howard Jr. Hayward Howard Jr. 6'1" | 160 lbs | DB Edna Karr | 2026 State LA ‘s development, and coaches were pleased with his work coming out of spring to be a player to watch heading into the fall.
