Tyler Bell Tyler Bell 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB St. Peter’s Prep | 2026 State NJ is a quarterback coming out of St Peter’s Prep. While there isn’t a ton of film available to break down quite yet, from what there is, Tyler shows early signs of greatness. With already a good size frame as a freshman, Tyler stands in the pocket and delivers a pretty ball. He isn’t one to get flustered or rushed through his progressions. And with being in a program such as St Peters, Tyler is set up to really master his craft and have an outstanding sophomore campaign.
Derek Zammit Derek Zammit 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB DePaul Catholic | 2026 State NJ is maybe the most talented QB coming out of New Jersey in 2026, and I don’t believe that’s an overstatement. With a ton of experience already under his belt, Derek has received looks from some big programs and has received offers from Duke and Wake Forest.
Derek can really sling the rock. An extremely impressive passer that makes each throw look effortless, Derek was able to rack up 1329 passing yards 14 touchdowns in 2022. Derek is a very accurate deep ball thrower, and has amazing foot work in the pocket. He keeps his eyes downfield as he goes through play action, and is able to rocket it to the open man. It’s hard to believe Derek still has three years remaining to perfect his craft, but perfecting it is what he will do.

Few freshmen make a big impact at the varsity level, let alone even play. However, Welman Crooms Welman Crooms 5’10” | 145 lbs | ATH Matawan | 2026 State NJ is an exception to that trend. Playing multiple roles for his team in 2022, Welman made his biggest impact as a pass catcher. He locates the ball in the air extremely well and is a target the QB can trust will come down with the 50/50 ball.
As a runner, Welman is a blur when he runs by defenders. He has the jets that allow him to change direction seamlessly and run the to the opposite side of the field. Welman caught 3 touchdowns, ran another, and totaled nearly 700 yards on offense last season. He recently received an offer from Syracuse, and with that, I’m sure more big things are heading his way.

Vincent LoPiccolo Vincent LoPiccolo 6’2″ | 230 lbs | OL Jackson Memorial | 2026 State NJ is the last player in this addition of Up Next. Lining up predominantly at tight end in 2022, he was a big time blocker that has the ability to get the defenders hips turned to open up lanes for his runners. It will be exciting to see how Vincent can help his team out next year in the pass game or make his way over to the tackle position. A pass rusher as well, Vincent looks to make a big impact on both sides of the ball next season.
