The 6’4, 255 La Grange product boasts a massive frame that has allowed him to be a Varsity starter at Lyons Township since his freshman year. While Tuerk’s size gives him the flexibility to play multiple spots on the defensive line, his athleticism and football instincts are what has earned Tuerk multiple Power 5 offers. When watching his tape over the past 3 seasons, it’s easy to see why Tuerk is one of the top defensive linemen in the state. He has improved every year and has a key ability to blow opposing offensive linemen off the ball and redirect in the backfield. Whether its a pass play or a run play, Tuerk is a disruptor. He is a strong tackler in the backfield and gives offensive linemen problems in both one-on-one matchups and double teams.

Brezina is a true outside linebacker. Standing at 6’3 and weighing 210 lbs, the Downers Grove North senior showcases versatility in all requirements of the outside linebacker position. He sets the edge well in the run game, has a quick first step that allows him to get to the quarterback in the blink of an eye, and is extremely fluid dropping in the pass game and breaking on the ball. The Iowa State commit should be an impact player in their 3-3-5 system, as he is a strong open field tackler who makes impact plays in a variety of ways. Whether rushing the QB, playing physical in the run game, or intercepting the ball, Brezina’s best football is ahead before he heads off to Ames to begin his college career.

Ellens is the definition of an ATH. He does a lot of different things for the Glenbard West offense, and no matter what position he is at, there is a good chance a touchdown is coming. Ellens led the West Suburban Conference in touchdowns as a Junior, crossing the goal line 30 times. He is a homerun hitter, with great speed and elusiveness in the open field. His film is equally as impressive at running back and wide receiver. Ellens showcases soft hands, impressive route running, and a quick burst that makes him a threat to score a touchdown nearly every time he touches the ball.

Pfafflin measures in at 6’2, 190 lbs and is an extremely smooth athlete. The Lyons Township product has phenomenal bend when blitzing off the edge and getting to the quarterback. He also had 3 INT’s as a junior, showcasing his ability to drop into coverage and take away the curl and flat. He plays very quick and uses his athleticism and balance to redirect on a variety of plays. Playing in space is not a problem for Pfafflin, as he closes ground quickly and finishes on tackles. With an impressive frame and plus athleticism, Pfafflin is on of the top players in the West Suburban Conference heading into his senior year.

Cole Ostendorf
Cole Ostendorf
The York High School inside linebacker is as physical as it gets. Ostendorf was the West Suburban Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year, posting 90 tackles, 27 TFL’s and 11.5 Sacks as a Junior. Ostendorf is extremely instinctual. He diagnoses run plays quickly and has the key ability to put his foot in the ground to get downhill on tackles. He uses his strong lower half to knock ball carries backwards. When blitzing, Ostendorf takes the right angles and gets to the quarterback quickly- creating sacks, pressures, or hurried throws where the rest of the defense benefits. He is solid in pass coverage and can do it all while anchoring the middle of the Dukes’ defense.
