Mater Dei Catholic (Chula Vista) running back Anthony McMillian Anthony McMillian 6’1″ | 215 lbs | RB Mater Dei Catholic | 2024 State CA Jr. announced his commitment to San Diego State on June 2.
He ran for 1270 yards on 187 carries with 12 touchdowns for the Crusaders, who won their second consecutive CIF State Championship.
McMillian had a top four of Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State and Arizona. He is the sixth player from California in San Diego State’s 2024 recruiting class and the lone running back.
San Clemente quarterback Dylan Mills Dylan Mills 6’2″ | 205 lbs | QB San Clemente | 2024 State CA announced his commitment to Villanova on Sunday.
The 6-foot-2 quarterback visited Villanova over the weekend and committed on the spot.
He got some playing time late in the season last year after transferring in from JSerra. He shared time with Broderick Redden Broderick Redden 6’5″ | 225 lbs | TE San Clemente | 2024 State CA , who is now a tight end for the Tritons.
Mills also had offers from Appalacian State, Bryant, Campbell and Georgetown.
He is the first player in Villanova’s 2024 recruiting class.
Orange Vista (Riverside) athlete Sire Gaines Sire Gaines 6’0″ | 190 lbs | ATH Orange Vista | 2024 State CA picked up an offer from Fresno State and announced a commitment date.
Late last month, Gaines announced a top six of Washington State, Arizona State, Washington, Arizona, Boise State and San Diego State. He also announced that he will commit on July 29.
Gaines is visiting San Diego State this weekend.
Birmingham athlete Peyton Waters Peyton Waters 6’2″ | 170 lbs | ATH Birmingham | 2024 State CA announced his top seven schools this past week.
Waters is the best college prospect in the LA City Section, something Birmingham is familiar with.
Northwestern, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, Stanford, Utah and USC round out his top seven.
Waters ran for 491 yards with 11 touchdowns last season and had over 1000 receiving yards on 60 catches with 11 touchdowns.
Sierra Canyon class of 2025 offensive lineman Ashdon Wnetrzak Ashdon Wnetrzak 6’9″ | 345 lbs | OL Sierra Canyon | 2025 State CA got his second offer this week from Maryland.
Wnetrzak has been active on the camp circuit this offseason. He has a good punch and his mobility is solid for how big he is.
He was an MVP of the Arrival Camp and a top five performer at the Prep Redzone Showcase in April.
