Duronslet is a dual threat quarterback who does a good job running the dive option in Covina’s offense.
Unlike some dual threat quarterbacks, he isn’t afraid to run between the tackles like a running back. As a passer, he does a good job keeping his eyes on the secondary and he makes the throws the offense asks him too.
Sometimes he holds on to the ball a little too long and creates pressure for himself which increases his degree of difficulty. But he is a two year starter who doesn’t make a lot of mistakes and should have a big junior year in front of him.
Cullen Doyle
Cullen Doyle
Brea Olinda struggled last season, but Doyle accounted for a large part of the Wildcat’s offense.
Doyle completed 65 percent of his passes for 170 yards per game with 15 touchdowns. He’s not a dual threat quarterback but he’s a good enough athlete to extend plays with his legs.
His release is smooth and he has nice touch on the intermediate and deep throws. He could improve his arm strength and sometimes he eyes down his primary target, but he is asked to do a lot in Brea’s offense.
Jacob Garcia Jacob Garcia 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB Baldwin Park | 2025 State CA has reportedly transferred to Baldwin Park recently. As a sophomore, he threw for 113 yards per game with 12 touchdowns for Cantwell Sacred Heart.
He’s not lightning fast but he is a long strider who can make big plays once he gets going. As a passer, the ball comes out of his hand nicely and he can hit guys in stride.
Garcia has a slow delivery, but is still an effective passer.
Andrew Maria
Andrew Maria
Maria is undersized but he is a very accurate passer. He completed 67 percent of his passes for 165 yards per game and 21 touchdowns.
He is best when he can plant his feet and throw. He can get the ball there on deep throws but has to put his entire body into the throw which makes his release slower.
Izaac Baca Izaac Baca 5’10” | 170 lbs | QB Chula Vista | 2025 CA is a good athlete who can make solid throws off-platform.
Despite being a real dual threat guy, Baca looks really confident in the pocket and makes the correct read a lot of the time. He only threw three interceptions in six complete games but when you watch his film, he is not afraid to take some risks with the ball.
