A showcase that began five years ago by Owner/Trainer Mike McCarthy and his staff. The event’s mission purpose is to showcase and provide a stage for New England’s top Qb’s they train, and those who want to learn more about the qb position training they provide to recruits on a yearly basis. The event continues to grow each year with additional high-profile QB recruits mainly from the New England region. Skilled receiver and defensive back prospects are also invited to perform at the event. A significant amount of college coaches from all levels attend the event.
This year, the 2023 showcase was no disappointment. The event is surely on track to be a annual premier showcase that many New England recruits and national college coaches from all levels will want to attend next year. The showcase allows wide receivers and defensive backs to showcase their athletic abilities in a very controlled and safe environment with plenty of opportunity for reps. The staff recognizes top QB performers and hands out Awards & MVP on the last day. This includes observation of these QB’s during both days. The following Qb’s were the Top Performers and MVP chosen by the Coaching Staff from the PM session…
Nick Caro Nick Caro 6’2″ | 195 lbs | QB Canterbury | 2024 State New E He is ranked as the #31 QB in the class of 2024 in the New England region.
Coach McCarthy Notes/Analysis: MVP: If there were two words to describe Nick Caro Nick Caro 6’2″ | 195 lbs | QB Canterbury | 2024 State New E this weekend he would be determined and focused. Nick was extremely engaged throughout the entire session on both days and his preparation for the event was evident.rnHe was consistent mechanically, extremely receptive to coaching, and executed the drill portion of camp properly at a high level. Nick has a smooth and fluid release; and showcased his ability to layer and add a touch to his throws. He values attention to detail, and that has allowed him to improve as a player year after year. On Sunday he showed us that he is able to efficiently work through progressions in a 7v7 setting, taking what the defense gives him without forcing any errant throws. Nick’s development is peaking at the right time and his recruiting is starting to pick up steam.
His MVP performance also came with a Division II St. Anselm’s Scholarship offer.
Chase Frisoli Chase Frisoli 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB North Attleboro | 2025 State New E He is ranked as our # 5 QB in the class of 2025 in the New England region.
Coach McCarthy Notes/Analysis: Runner-Up: Chase has been the starting Quarterback for North Attleboro since his freshman year, and has a ton of big-game experience playing in the Hockomock (arguably one of the deepest and toughest leagues in the state).rnChase’s experience and calm demeanor was on full display throughout the weekend. Chase excelled when the pressure was put on him, converting throws that were a must hit in order to qualify and advance into the Finals on Day 2. I was most impressed with his ability to process during 7v7 and throw guys open with anticipation. Chase picked up his first Division I offer a few weeks ago from Wagner, and continues to work hard weekly to improve his game. He will be one of the top quarterbacks in the state this upcoming fall and has aspirations of leading his team back to Gillette.

Drew Eason Drew Eason 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Methuen | 2024 State New E He is ranked as our #17 QB in the class of 2024 in the New England region.rn
Coach McCarthy Notes/Analysis: 3rd place: One of the more dominant 3 sport athletes in Massachusetts this past year had himself a weekend. Drew’s ability to layer throws and his accuracy both inside and outside of the pocket were on full display. You could make an argument that he was one of the most consistent throwers all weekend in a stacked group.
He scored 3rd overall but wasn’t far off from taking home Camp MVP honors himself. On top of this he impressed with his confidence and high energy that lifted the other athletes around him. I have no doubt there is more to come from this performance, and I feel that it won’t be too much longer before the field general is offered by a Division I program. I expect to see him continue his reign of dominance of the MIAA yet again this coming year as he has his sights set on leading his Methuen squad to a state championship.

Hudson Weidman Hudson Weidman 6’1″ | 190 lbs | QB Pingree School | 2024 State New E He is ranked as our #7 QB in the class of 2024 in the New England region.
Coach McCarthy Notes/Analysis: Runner-Up: 4th Place: Hudson Weidman Hudson Weidman 6’1″ | 190 lbs | QB Pingree School | 2024 State New E to no surprise showed a surplus of college coaches exactly what Sacred Heart saw when they offered just a short time ago. The 6”1 190 pound Pingree School product willingness to compete throw for throw with anyone in the area is an admirable trait. His quick release, twitchy movement skills, and ability to change tempos when throwing the football really stood out for me this weekend.rnClimbing the leaderboards day 2 was just another testament to his resilience. After battling back from a knee injury most of last offseason, he was able to single handedly will his injury riddled Pingree team last season to success. With his plus side athleticism, and arsenal of throws he possesses, there should be no surprises when he has a ton of success again this fall.
