Region VI-5A
Berkeley Stags
Jove Rouse Jove Rouse 6'2" | 260 lbs | DL Berkeley | 2024 State SC DL – The Stags are rebuilding under first-year coach Eric Lodge, but Rouse gives him something to build around. The 6’2”, 260-pound senior is hard to block when he’s highly motivated. He’s reworked his body some in the offseason and that will help in keeping his motor high. He also plays basketball, and that skill set has helped him out on the football field.
Cane Bay Cobras
DeShawn Tompkins RB – The Cobras have a crowded backfield and will spread the wealth, but Tompkins could be the breakout star this season. He had over 700 yards last season and is used primarily in space. Tompkins can make guys miss and is unlikely to be run down if he can get a step on the defense. Tompkins will share carries with Langston Rhodes Langston Rhodes 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB Cane Bay | 2024 SC and Brycen Johnson.
Goose Creek Gators
Meliq McGowan Meliq McGowan 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Goose Creek | 2026 State SC RB – The sophomore saw his playing time increase at the end of last season and he should be the featured back this season. McGowan ran for 625 yards in seven games last season and those numbers could easily double this season. Two other players Gator fans can look for big seasons will be wide receiver Davion Mallory and Jehoava Williams, who will play multiple positions.
Stratford Knights
Jachin Davis Jachin Davis 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Stratford | 2026 State SC QB – This is the third Davis brother to be a starting quarterback at Stratford. Davis is only a sophomore but garnered a lot of playing time after taking the starting position midway of last season. He’s shown enough to receive an offer from Cincinnati. He stands only 6′, 170 pounds but has a cannon of an arm and isn’t afraid to throw it in tight spaces.
Wando Warriors
Brock Feinberg Brock Feinberg 6'1" | 230 lbs | ATH Wando | 2025 State SC TE/H-back – It’s hard to believe that Feinberg is just entering his junior season. He’s a seasoned veteran for the Warriors and causes match-up problems from the tight end/H-back position. He’s athletic enough at 6’2”, 240 pounds to get open against coverage but also physical enough to be a key blocker in the rushing attack. He also will see time at linebacker, giving Wando a versatile, do-everything performer.
