Phil Simms North-South Classic: Standout Performers

Zahir Davis

6'2"  |  DL  |  2023 Oakcrest

Most of the interior pressure that was created by the South team was all  Zahir Davis Roberts. Essentially, unblockable in the first half he had a sack, tackles for loss, and many quarterback pressures. However, he wasn’t as disruptive in the second half but did enough to earn defensive MVP honors for the South. 

Khalil Forbes

  Khalil Forbes Khalil Forbes 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Lincoln | 2023 State NJ put his talents on display early often as he got the party started for the North. Showing his dominance in contested catch situations down the field going 2 for 2 on deep catches in the first half, using his 6’2 160 pound frame. Forbes will take his talents to Pace University

Jordan Mcallister

6'2"  |  ATH  |  2023 Seton Hall Prep

Mcallister was disruptive all game creating consistent pressure. Every defensive stat you can name he has except for an interception. Even had a blocked punt on special teams showing off his massive wingspan and size at 6’3 225 pounds. Mcallister will be playing the University of New Hampshire this coming fall.

Aaron Young

6'1"  |  WR  |  2023 Burlington City

oung had an up-and-down game but came alive in the second half. After dropping a wide-open pass that could’ve led to an easy score. He came alive in the second grabbing a huge contested catch for a first down. Then grabbing  3 passes on one drive leading to the South’s only touchdown of the game on his way to offensive MVP for the South team.  Young is currently uncommitted. 

Chase Lorencovitz

 Lorencovtiz was the safety blanket for all the quarterbacks as Chase came up with big catches early and often. He sparked the drive for the North side leading to their first score of the game where he had 4 catches on the drive. Chase showed he can be a reliable pass-catching target. And in the fall he will be taking his talents to New Haven University 

Jack Inserra

6'2"  |  DL  |  2023 Northern Highlands

 Inserra was also a disruptive force for the North squad getting to the quarterback early and often. Showing off his solid motor and size. Jack sealed the game with a sack to give the North team the ball back and stamped his impact on the game. Jack will be attending Bucknell University in the fall. 

Jerimya Paula

5'9" | 180 lbs | ATH | 2023 Rancocas Valley

Paula got to show off his speed and quickness every time he touched the ball. He had an impressive run on the South’s touchdown of the game as he showed great vision and burst to the endzone. Jerimya will be attending Delaware Valley in the fall.

Van Weber

Van had an up-and-down game also but came alive in the second half. He was able to make a difference on the ground and threw the air. 

Completing a nice deep pass to Khalil Forbes Khalil Forbes 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Lincoln | 2023 State NJ , and developing some chemistry with Chase Lorencovitz Chase Lorencovitz 6'1" | 215 lbs | ATH Wallkill Valley Regional | 2023 State NJ . That spilled over to the second half where he connected with him 4 times on one drive and then finished the drive with a nice pass over the middle for the only touchdown for the North as Van earned offensive MVP honors. 

Van currently has no offers but has decided to take a reclass year at Milford Academy in  New York.
