CJ Jackson CJ Jackson 6'4" | 225 lbs | LB Tucker | 2024 State GA – EDGE – Tucker
One of the top overall pass-rushers across the South, the outstanding Tucker Tiger EDGE defender made a surprising verbal commitment this week to the in-state Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The long, athletic 6-foot-4 220+ pounder held major SEC offers from Georgia, Florida, LSU, among others, but in the end, Jackson decided to pave his own path and become a true difference maker for a Georgia Tech program trying to get back to their winning ways. Yellow Jacket head coach Brent Key has made recruiting in-state players a real focus for his program, and today was a massive step forward. The Yellow Jackets haven’t has a pass-rusher on campus like Jackson in a long, ling time, so expect him to see the field early and often in 2024.
Ira Singlton – EDGE – Parkview
A long, athletic EDGE defender who can really get after the quarterback, Singleton is a standout Parkview defender who will now bring plenty of length and a promising frame to the Miami (OH) defense at the next level. The 6-foot-4 220-pounds was a 1st-team All-Region selection last year as a junior, as he was a disruptive defender all season long. After a big season where he made 40 tackles, 10 TFLs, nine sacks and one forced fumble, Prep Redzone decided to add him to the 2024 rankings, coming in at No. 130 in Georgia for the 2024 class. As much as he’s improved over the last several months, he could see that ranking rise in the next update. He’s expected to be one of the top pass rushers in the region and possibly throughout Gwinnett County going into the 2023 season next fall.
Zion Ferguson Zion Ferguson 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Grayson | 2024 State GA – DB – Gainesville
One of the top 2024 cornerback prospects in the Atlanta area, Ferguson is a long-time LSU commitment who decided to make a change in his recruitment, flipping to the North Carolina Tar Heels this weekend. A long, technically sound cover corner, Ferguson was excellent at Grayson over the last two seasons but will now play his senior season for the powerful 6A Gainesville Red Elephants this upcoming fall. Known for his tight coverage down the field, Ferguson is not afraid of contact and has no problem coming down and helping against the run. He’s a sure tackler and will bring a veteran presence to an already talented Gainesville defense. Look for him to have a promising career in Chapel Hill when the time comes.
Jivan Baly Jivan Baly 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Meadowcreek | 2024 State GA – Meadowcreek
A physical, but instinctive defensive back out of Meadowcreek, Baly just finished a nice junior season, showing he can lockdown receivers on the outside or in the slot. The playmaking defender from Gwinnett County has a nice frame for someone his age at 6-foot-1 170-pounds and appears to be fundamentally sound on an island by himself. After receiving multiplee impressive D1 offers, Baly decided to make his commitment to the N.C State Wolfpack. In 2022, Baly made over 35 tackles last season and picked off two passes. He’s a tough defender who knows how to tackle, but his coverage skills are easy to see. A speedy cornerback who can run step for step with just about any receiver in Gwinnett County, Baly is expected to have a gigantic senior season for the Mustangs.
