With summer workouts in full swing, the anticipation is high and now is the time that players looking to come up or make a name for themselves are about to hit the scene. Here are several players in the Class of 2025 rankings who are On The Come Up.
Juan is a long, lean, athletic defensive back who has an extended reach that enables him to shut down passing lanes. Aguilar plays under control, his footwork is clean, he transitions into his backpedal smoothly and his oily hips allow him to stay in phase with receivers. Juan comes up in run support using excellent technique, he tackles well in the open field and he takes proper angles to the ball carrier. He plays with a ballhawk mentality and look for Juan to patrol the Kimball secondary in 2023 daring opponent to test him.

Highlights
Carney has a big arm, he can make every throw on the route tree and his ability to navigate the pocket are traits that stick out in his game. Luke’s field vision is superb, he makes quick decisions and his accuracy on the run allows him to extend plays and throw lasers downfield. Carney has the speed to make plays with his feet, either on a designed runs or when the pocket collapses he can escape to move the sticks and be a threat to make a house call. Luke is a two-time state champion at Dallas Christian High School and he scorched defenses in 2022 rushing for 881 yards, while passing for 2,241 yards with 33 total touchdowns. Carney is one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2025 and his profile on the recruiting trail is rising. After a recent great camp showing, he picked an offer from Marshall University, as well as Western Michigan and Toledo late this spring. There is no doubt that Carney will see his offer sheet increase in 2023.

Highlights
Clark is jitterbug quick, his superb vision enables him to set up his blocks well, which allows him to use his cutback ability to slice up defenses in the open field and his burst at the second level creates separation from defenders. Nick is a receiving threat out of the backfield, he has reliable hands and this makes him a dangerous weapon in the passing game. Clark had 700 total yards from scrimmage with 7 touchdowns in 2022 and you can expect his load to be heavy in 2023.
