Continue ReadingThe Oakland Activities Association is home to some of the best talent in Michigan. Consisting of the Red, White, Blue, and Gold leagues, the OAA is home to various enrollment sizes and talent ranges. In fact, I’d argue that the OAA produced six state-championship contenders last year alone. With that, we’re taking a look at a few Class of 2024 guys who have done well in the past but could truly have career years this year. Check them out!
ATH | Kyle Robbins Kyle Robbins 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Seaholm | 2024 State MI | Seaholm | Hudl
Kyle is one of the most dynamic athletes in all of Southeast Michigan. He’s coming off an incredible baseball season where he proved to be one of the best pitchers in the area. With a fastball topping off at 93MPH, with a 3.0 ERA and 24Ks in April alone. He was a key piece in the Maples playoff run.
As for football, Kyle really broke out after his Sophomore season. During his 2021 season, he was viewed as a ball-hawking DB and was responsible for critical plays that earned Seaholm their first win against North Farmington. This past season, Kyle grabbed seven balls on defense, returning the ball to his offense. There are multiple impressive interceptions on his film, with a few really instinctual fumble recoveries. Kyle is a player with lightning-quick reaction time, and he can make it happen on both sides of the ball. I’d be shocked if I don’t see some offers come Kyle’s way this fall!
ATH | Eric Christoff Eric Christoff 5'7" | 145 lbs | ATH Avondale | 2024 State MI | Avondale | Hudl
Eric is a unique prospect. Back in 2020, he came into Avondale as a super-talented Freshman but has never turned it on like I know he’s capable of. After a transfer season at De La Salle with little playing time, Eric ends up back at Avondale. Now, he’s put into his 3rd new head coach and reuniting with his JV Quarterback Tyler Herzog Tyler Herzog 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Avondale | 2024 State MI . I know that Eric is extremely fit. I know he’s a fast-twitch guy. Eric has the potential to be a possible DII prospect and is possibly a huge sleeper in the 2024 class. I’m excited to see what Eric can do this coming season!
ATH | Cameron Pettaway Cameron Pettaway 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Farmington | 2024 State MI | Farmington | Hudl
Cameron already has multiple high-end DII offers. I have a good feeling he’s bound for another breakthrough season where he’ll get MAC attention. Pettaway is a super fluid athlete who can do a lot in the slot and as an RB. His burst is awesome, and he’s able to make the quick lateral movements needed at the RB/Slot positions. His Hudl states that he’s a 4.5 40 with a 4.3 shuttle. Very impressive athlete, and he’s bound to take over the OAA Blue next season.
WR | Raymond Payne Raymond Payne 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Lake Orion | 2024 State MI | Lake Orion | Hudl
Raymond is an athlete that is a bit overshadowed on a talented Lake Orion offense. Playing in the slot, Raymond was utilized in the sweep run game quite a bit. He was crucial in keeping the defense on their toes and keeping them honest. There are multiple plays where Raymond gets the ball on the right side of the field, and the whole defense is looking left (and vice-versa). I like his overall speed and athleticism, and I expect him to get some more time running routes this coming season.
QB | Sunny Kadlitz Sunny Kadlitz 6'0" | 155 lbs | QB Berkley | 2024 State MI | Berkley | Hudl
Listen, I’m not a huge Sunny fan, but I know people that are. Sunny has been a big name on this Berkley squad really since his sophomore season, and he’s had his ups and downs. Mainly, he’s only played 10 games in the past 2 seasons (6 in 2021, 4 last season). He’s a decent passer with good throw power in the short game, and he’s shown 7on7 flashes in other parts of the field this offseason. He must have had an insane camp over at Albion because he’s earned an offer from the Britons! I’ve been seeing him here and there this offseason, and I really hope he’s able to get a full season under his belt.
