Emaree Winston Emaree Winston 6'3" | 230 lbs | TE Calhoun | 2025 State GA (Calhoun) and Walter Matthews Walter Matthews 6'7" | 245 lbs | TE Hiram | 2024 State GA (Hiram) are National recruits with multiple P5 offers and several others have picked up D1 interest. We take a look at the Top 10 returning TE’s in the Northwest Georgia area.
2024 6’2 230: The 4 Star recruit has all the tools to be a contributor at the P5 level. He has soft hands, a good route runner and can line up as an outside receiver. Maintains contact when run blocking and pushes the defenders out of the play. He has been on campus at multiple P5 schools this off season, most recently at UNC and South Carolina. Outstanding basketball player.
2024 6’7 250: The 4 Star recently committed to the USC Trojans on June 14th. Long and athletic with good hands. Had 20 catches for 425 yards and 8 touchdowns in ’22. He recently participated in the Elite 11 Showdown as one of the top TE’s in the nation. During the offseason he is a force on the hardwood and is an outstanding rebounder and shot blocker. Matthews will be an impact player in the Pac12 over the next 4 years.
Jordan White: (Carrollton)
2024 6’3 220: White is a high academic guy, 3.85 gpa with a 1300 SAT, that can play. Good hands and is one of the best North-South route runners in our Area. He is an aggressive blocker. He is a three-sport athlete. When not playing football for the State runner up Trojans you can find him on the lacrosse field or the track. 2022 State Champion discus thrower the States highest classification. Has 8 offers from UTC, Citadel and Mercer among others.
Bannon Phelan: (Dalton)
2024 6’4 225: Phelan is an Under the Radar prospect that has seen his recruitment pick up over the last year. Good leg strength and does a good job run blocking. Blocked for a RB that went over the 2000 yard mark in ’22. Was a 1st Team All Region selection and 2nd Team All Area selection in ’22. Participated in the prestigious Rising Senior All Star Game last December. High academic student with a 4.4 GPA and has been on campus at Yale, Princeton and Columbia so far this offseason.
Gabe Bobbitt: (South Paulding)
2024 6’4 225: No TE recruit has seen his stock rise like Bobbitt this offseason. Long, athletic TE that has the speed to stretch the field vertically. Has the potential to move out to the WR spot at the next level. Bobbitt hit the Camp Circuit hard this offseason picking up offers from Tennessee Tech, Towson St, Ga Southern, and Wofford among others. This kid hasn’t hit his ceiling yet and is one to keep an eye on the 2023. Could be a surprise signing for someone late in the recruiting cycle.
Isaiah Williams (Pickens)
2024 6’3.5 235: Williams has quietly gone about being one of the top TE recruits in NWGA. Possibly the best run blocker on our list, dude likes to put people on their back. Good route runner that does an excellent job using his big frame to shield off smaller defenders. Soft hands and has YAC speed. High academic guy with a 3.9 GPA. Was 1st Team All Region and GACA All State in ’22. He has received an offer from Maine and Army and was recently on campus at Virgnia Tech.
Connor Brasfield: (Cartersville)
2024 6’2 220: Hard worker that comes from one of the top programs in the State of Georgia. Was 2nd team All Region last season before the forementioned Winston and Matthews. Tough kid that plays LB on defense of the Purple Hurricanes. Received his first offer from Sewanee back in April and would be a good addition to a high academic program.
Parker Metcalf (Ridgeland)
2024 6’3 220: Good offseason for the returning 1st Team All 6-3a TE. Tough kid that doesn’t mind catching the ball in traffic. Gets after when blocking, engages and stays engaged until the whistle blows. Plays OLB for the Panthers on defense and rarely leaves the field on Friday night. Carries a 3.78 GPA and has received offers to play at the next level from Sewanee and Arizonia Christian this Summer. One to put on your watch list this Fall.
Logan Stokes (Trion)
2025 6’4 225: A underclassmen TE/DE that is getting ready to burst on to the recruiting scene. Had a good showing at the Shorter recruit camp earlier this Summer and has turned heads at padded camps going against bigger schools. High motor, athletic guy with good speed. Led the Trion Bulldogs in sacks last season from the DE position. Stretches the field vertically and has good hands. Intriguing prospect with a high ceiling.
Sam Sartin (Gordon Lee)
2025 6’5 225: Another intriguing underclass TE prospect with a high ceiling. Definitely has the size and athleticism to play at the next level. 4.77 40 yard dash at 6’5. Plays in a run heavy offense at Gordon Lee so he has plenty of experience in run blocker. Aggressive tackler on defense. I’ve seen the guy on the basketball court and he has good change of direction and show his athletic ability playing the 5 spot on the hardwood. Received an offer earlier this offseason from Tennesse State.
