In this article, we are going to highlight several prospects that have been opening eyes in camps over the past few weeks. The talent from the state of Texas has been on full display across the country.
Owen Hollenbeck Owen Hollenbeck 6'4" | 315 lbs | OL Melissa | 2025 State TX -Offensive Line-Melissa-2025-6’4” 313-Pounds
Earlier in the week, Hollenbeck had the opportunity to attend the lineman camp at the University of Arkansas. From a run blocking perspective, Hollenbeck punishes opposing defensive linemen. He looks to finish every block with a pancake. Meanwhile, he has speed that will surprise you. Hollenbeck is able to get out front on screen passes and completely level opposing defensive backs and linebackers. Hollenbeck opened plenty of eyes in Arkansas and earned a scholarship offer from the Razorbacks in the process.
Tobias Steppes Tobias Steppes 6'6" | 255 lbs | OL Lancaster | 2024 State TX -Offensive Line-Lancaster-2024-6’6” 265-Pounds
The Lancaster offensive tackle will open plenty of eyes with his impressive speed. Steppes has the quickness needed to get out front on screen passes. However, he uses his size and quickness to keep opposing defensive linemen away from his quarterback. He has the power to stonewall opposing pass rushers. The future TCU Horned Frog has the opportunity to spend last weekend in Fort Worth at Sonny Dykes’ camp. Steppes is a prospect that will fit the air raid system that Dykes employs perfectly.
Brayden Robinson Brayden Robinson 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Red Oak | 2026 State TX -Athlete-Red Oak-2026-5’9” 165-Pounds
Brayden Robinson Brayden Robinson 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Red Oak | 2026 State TX is one of the most explosive players in the class of 2026. He has tremendous speed and can line up all over the field for Red Oak. This summer we have had a chance to see him making plays all over the 7-on-7 circuit. Robinson uses his speed to create separation from opposing defenders. In the process, he is attracting plenty of attention from schools such as Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee. Robinson is a prospect to watch out for over the next couple of seasons.
Ahkhari Johnson-Athlete-Pleasant Grove-2024-5’11” 180-Pounds
The Pleasant Grove prospect has tremendous versatility on both sides of the ball. On the offensive side of the ball, he can play quarterback, wide receiver, or spend some time at running back. He is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, Johnson does an excellent job of locking down opposing wide receivers. Johnson had the opportunity to visit the University of Arkansas recently and afterward verbally committed to the Razorbacks. He has the potential to have a big season for Pleasant Grove, keep an eye on him!
Riley Wormley Riley Wormley 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Southlake Carroll | 2025 State TX -Running Back-Southlake Carroll-5’11” 180-Pounds
Earlier in the month, Riley Wormley Riley Wormley 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Southlake Carroll | 2025 State TX opened plenty of eyes at the Texas camp in Austin. He is a running back that has no problems making people miss. Wormley is extremely shifty and has the speed to get into open field quickly. At the Longhorns’ camp, Wormley displayed the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He has the ability to open plenty of eyes this season and I would expect a strong season from the Southlake Carroll running back.
