Players who have the speed to take it the distance, guys who are special teams threats and players who can win no matter what defense lines up in front of them, are traits that college programs head to Texas to find and add to their rosters. Here are several play making wide receivers who have set the bar high in the Class of 2024.
Griffiths is a savvy route runner, he get in and out of his breaks quickly and his ability to create space enables him to get open consistently. Tre is a handes catcher, he has large mitts engulf the football and he uses his extended catch radius allows him to win on the 50/50 contested grabs. Griffiths has an explosive burst with top end speed to excel at yards after the catch and he can make a house call for six from anywhere on the field. Tre recently committed to Oklahoma State and will compete for early playing time in Stillwater.

Henry is a big body wideout, who has the explosive burst combined with the top shelf leaping ability to win on the 50/50 contested grabs. Keondre runs crisp, sharp routes, his quickness in space enables him to create space and he has the strength to fight off press coverage which allows him to win routinely. Henry has the speed to stretch the field but he can work the short to intermediate areas to make himself an option underneath to expose holes in the defense. He excels at yards after the catch, he is an elusive runner and he runs with power which allows him to break tackles. Henry is the total package at the receiver position and recently committed to Purdue. Keondre will have an opportunity to compete for early playing time when he gets on campus.

Highlights
Coleman is cat quick, his ability to change directions allows him to be an elusive runner and he has the next level speed to make a house call no matter the down and distance. Miles is a sharp route runner, he gets in and out of his breaks quickly, which enables him to create separation. Coleman’s explosive burst allows him to excel at yards after the catch, he is phonebooth quick in the open field and he has the ability to make defenders miss and score. Miles is hands catcher of the football and he is a sure handed receiver. Coleman is dangerous returner on special teams, he reads his block well and he has the speed to go the distance. Miles was key cog that helped lead Vandergrift to a state title runner up appearance in 2022. Coleman committed to North Texas and will provide the Mean Green with a versatile threat who is a mismatch nightmare.

Rickey has reliable hands, he attacks the football in flight and he uses his body well to shield off defenders in close coverage. Rickey works the short to intermediate area like a veteran and he has the speed to stretch the defense. Evans excels at yards after the catch, he is shifty in space and he gets north quickly, which allows him to be a scoring threat no matter the down and distance. Evans is a two-time State Champion with South Oak Cliff and was a key offensive threat on the Golden Bears offense. Evans is a national recruit with double digit offers. Rickey is taking his talents to Houston, recently committing to Texas Southern. Evans will have a chance to step on the field immediately and contribute early.
