In the Big North, I’ve uncovered a few potential stars. These are POTENTIAL star players, as most of these guys have not had significant Varsity playing time and will be on the Watch List. That said, I’d like to share seven Big North players who have piqued my interest!
TE | Grant Williams | Cadillac | Hudl
Grant looks to be Cadillac’s primary in-line Tight End. He doesn’t have a combined sophomore tape, but watching game highlights, I see flashes of both blocking and receiving ability. He’s a big body listed at 6’3″ 211 on his hudl, and I could potentially see Grant developing into a great TE. Cadillac had some impressive prospects over the past few seasons, so saying Grant has a college football outlook is not a reach!
ATH | Kyle McGowan | Cadillac | Hudl
Kyle is a super interesting player that I’m curious about. He’s 6’6″ but relatively slim at 195 lbs. His film shows flashes as a receiver, as I noted decent release, contested catch, and a overall good athletic foundation. My gut tells me Kyle should focus on bulking up quite a bit to be an elite TE. I’d love to see more measurables from Kyle, but seriously, my gut tells me he could develop into something great.
OT | Martin Peccia | Cadillac | Hudl
This is mostly speculatory, because there’s only 1 highlight to his name. Though, this highlight is impressive. The 6’5″ 290lb tackle flashes some agility with a nice pull and pancake. Considering his size, this one highlight, and knowing how Cadillac can develop players, I feel optimistic that Martin can be a good full-time starter this fall.
WR | Javon Stevenson | Escanaba | Hudl
Javon doesn’t have a ton of tape, but I like what I see as a good starting point. He has a few highlights of good concentration and coming down with not-so-easy catches. His release is good, and he has a good athletic foundation to build on. He also has a few defensive highlights. I’d love to see Javon continue to work on his craft to become a dominant force in the Big North!
WR | Seth Marek Seth Marek 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Petoskey | 2025 State MI | Petoskey | Hudl
Seth is unique in this group of guys in that he’s already a proven varsity player. I really like his ability to make contested catches and I think he has a great athletic foundation. He can also do some nice work in the open field. I’d love to see Seth focus on speed, release, and overall route-running. I see high potential in Seth, and I hope to see another breakout season this Fall!
ATH | Lucas Green Lucas Green 5'8" | 150 lbs | ATH Gaylord | 2025 MI | Gaylord | Hudl
Lucas has tape at QB, RB, and DB. All-around, I Lucas is a solid athlete for the Big North and has some real good plays under his belt. Especially as a runner, he sports good vision and burst. He’s got a few interceptions as a DB, and has shown flashes there. Overall, a Sophomore athlete who has shown flashes in many areas. I’m very interested to see how Gaylord utilizes Lucas in the future and I’m curious to see who Lucas becomes!
