Over 1,200 prospects poured on to the campus for a mega camp that was simply amazing – with over 60 college coaches evaluating and watching some of the top prospects in Florida and from other areas in the south.
College coaches came from Indiana University, Middle Tennessee State, Western Michigan, Kansas, Minnesota, St. Thomas University, Rutgers, Keiser University, Webber International University, Warner University, Georgia Tech, Bethune Cookman University, Howard University, Toledo University, Marshall, University of Maryland, Bryant University and so many other destinations made their way out to see some of the top quarterbacks, receivers, defensive backs, special teams performers, linebacker, and offensive and defensive linemen.
As first year head coach Alex Golesh and his staff rolled out the welcome mat, prospects had the chance to perform in front of many college coaches who had the opportunity to evaluate and add current 2024 seniors, 2025 juniors, 2026 sophomores and incoming 2027 freshmen to a growing list of elite talent.
While there were tons of impressive football players among this large group, we picked out five prospects that we followed throughout the day:
2024 – Caleb Goodloe Caleb Goodloe 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Calvary Christian | 2024 FL , WR, 6-1, 185, Clearwater Central Catholic. While there were so many impressive football players to keep an eye on, here is one who many have been watching for a while now – and as he did his thing – college coaches were watching and writing down the positives that they saw. Here is a talented young man who brings it all to the table with speed, skill, and the ability to become a leader that the Marauders will need this coming season if they want to get back to the 1M state title game.
2025 – Dominic Lucci Dominic Lucci 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Martin County | 2025 FL , RB, 5-10, 185, Stuart Martin County. Yet another underclassman that is flying way beneath the radar and he finally had the opportunity to showcase his many skills on Thursday. This is a quick, athletic football talent who is on his way to getting some major looks this coming season, and while a camp/combine setting is never easy for a running back to full show what they have in their arsenal, you can see football skill and athletic ability. Hard worker who not only makes an impression on the football field, but in the classroom where his 4.0 GPA is among the best on a very talented team.
2025 – Logan McCloud, DE, 6-2, 230, Newberry. There are very few prospects who is comfortable enough to compete at every event possible, and this is one of them. A versatile two-way (TE) prospect that brings everything to the table, his appearance at the camps was noticed by the coaches who watched him go through drills, test and perform in one-on-one competition. Solid football player who is part of a Newberry program that has assembled quite a group of underclassmen who continue to raise the bar on and off of the football field. He also happens to hold down a 3.5 GPA in the classroom, which has colleges and universities looking in his direction.
2025 – Brandon Reus, PK, Bradenton Braden River. The one position at any camp that rarely gets the spotlight are the special teams performers, and Thursday was no exception. While many of the college coaches took a break after the first session, many missed out on gifted punters, kickers, and long snappers. While there were some quality prospects, this young man really made a lasting impression with his distance and accuracy, and like so many soccer players, the explosion of the ball coming off his foot grabbed the attention of many watching. This is definitely a talented young man to keep an eye on.
2025 – Preston Wright Preston Wright 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons | 2025 State FL , QB, 6-2, 184, Ocala Trinity Catholic. Yet another rising talent who came to Tampa to make an impression, and he certainly did as he represented his school and his head coach John Brantley, who was on hand to see him test, go through drills and make a statement. From arm strength to overall athleticism, here is someone that you may want to keep an eye on over the next two years. Solid talent who has a chance to be very special.
