However, there are five quarterbacks who would have been noticed in any area of Missouri and seconds into watching the film you can understand why. Below, I highlight why these prospects are near the top of the 2024 quarterback rankings in the entire state.
Jake Ryan
Jake Ryan
Jake Ryan is a talented two-sport athlete out of Columbia, Missouri. Jake holds offers from Central Methodist University and Culver-Stockton College. Be on the lookout for more schools in the region to recruit Jake before 2024 gets here.
Jake’s poise shows cycling through reads and delivering the correct throw in the face of pressure. Toughness and strength gets displayed standing tall in the pocket and also in Jake’s finish as a runner. Good touch shows hitting the outside shoulder of tightly covered receivers running vertically. Coaches like Jake’s combination of size, mobility, and extend ability that gets displayed when he avoids pressure with his legs but finishes the play with his arm by using his eyes to find the open man downfield.
Quinn Northrup
Quinn Northrup
Quinn Northrup is set to enter his third year as Springfield Catholic’s starting quarterback. Quinn most recently attended camps at Drake and Indiana State. Expect Quinn’s regional recruitment to continue heating up this fall.
Quinn’s arm strength shows driving the ball into the seam between defenders’ zones. Good touch gets displayed when Quinn hits receivers in stride vertically after getting knocked off his spot. Good anticipation shows consistently hitting wide receivers on time in levels passing concepts. Quinn’s toughness shows as a runner and standing tall in the face of pressure.
Kylan Mabins Kylan Mabins 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Glendale Highschool | 2024 MO will spend his final season at Glendale High School in Springfield. Kylan most recently attended camps at Pitt State and Mizzou. Although Kylan has been invited to campuses outside of Missouri, I am surprised nobody locally has offered the productive passer. I would expect more than one school to offer Kylan before his senior year is over.
Kylan’s arm strength shows driving the ball into hole shots behind the flat zone of defenders’ cover three schemes. Kylan does a good job using his eyes outside of the pocket and resetting his feet in the face of pressure. Good mobility shows escaping pressure, but Kylan’s poise shows stepping up in the pocket when he could scramble to keep the play alive. Coaches see starter potential in Kylan’s good combination of poise, decision-making, and extend ability.
Sam Kaiser Sam Kaiser 6’5″ | 210 lbs | QB Rock Bridge | 2024 State MO is the highest rated quarterback in Missouri’s 2024 class. The Rock Bridge veteran holds eleven offers with the most recent one coming from Central Michigan yesterday. Look for the offers to continue rolling in before it comes time for Sam to make his commitment.
Elite caliber arm strength shows launching off-balance, out of pocket touchdowns as well as completing opposite field deep outs with ease. Sam’s calm demeanor shows with good touch under pressure and quick feet that allow him to smoothly reset after escaping pass rushers in the pocket. Displays of next level accuracy show delivering well-timed balls over the middle on short and intermediate throws.
