A estimated 800+ prospects attended with hopes of grabbing college coaches attention. The camp staff did an excellent job of organizing this large event. Recruits were observed getting multiple reps which is always a main concern for many recruits during a large event. A known supporter and organizer of the event Steve Martin; helped get this event to being the premier event of New England on annual basis.
With so many athletes in attendance and given how many players were competing at the same time, It was impossible for me to see everyone. Therefore, this is not a definitive list of the best performers but just a list of recruits who caught my eyes; to where I was observing the talent during the camp. I spent my time viewing a few big-man groups along with receiver, running back, QB and DB groups. This is only the tops of what I was able to see.
This is part 4 of a 5-part series that will be rolled out during week of June 19 through 24, 2023.
6’4”/ 215 lbs/ 2025/ 3.5 GPA/ WR/ DErn#115 Gold Shirt: He is ranked as the #31 athlete in the class of 2025 in New England. He carries a large frame with good length and he can move with good speed vertically. During 1 on 1’s he showed good promise with getting separation on quick defenders. I didn’t see any DB try and press him as his mere presence seemed to encourage the DB’s to play him at a 5yrd depth.
Worcester Academy ‘24 | 6’0 | 180lbs | WR/DB | 3.8 GPA | 5,10,5: 4.13 | Broad Jump: 9’4 | All Evergreen League Honorable MentionrnGold 116 Shirt: He is ranked as the 31 WR in the class of 2024 in New England. He is a relentless WR who will do whatever is needed to make the catch. I observed him laying out for passes that made many watching go “wow”. Observed Db’s grabbing and pulling on his shirt in hopes of disrupting his effort. He played through it all and gave consistent effort with success. He can bend and surely displayed good body control and balance with reliable hands.
Highlights
WR @ Milton Academy | 5’11 | 170lb | 4.44 40 | 3.8 GPA | #2 WR in New England | 10.9 100mrnHe is ranked as the # 2 WR in the class of 2026 in New England. It was a pleasure to get eyes on this young man in a live setting. He is dynamic and comes as advertised with a high level speed. His skill set immediately attracts. He displayed critical factors needed for a wide receiver such as hands and catching ability, play speed and tempo, toughness and competitiveness, ability to separate, dependability, and playmaking abilities. This young man recorded a 4.44 40yrd time that was the 3rd fastest time overall during the showcase. He is a name many will hear about in New England during the fall 2023 season. I project him as a Div 1 recruit who will have multiple opportunities. It’s just a matter of time for this youngster as many college coaches are just getting familiar with his name.
St.Thomas Moore(CT)/class of 2024/olb,db/5’11/190lbsrnMaroon 26 shirt: He was accidentally omitted from our 2024 rankings as a result of not knowing of his reclassfication into the class of 2024. He caught my attention during 1 on 1’s. I observed him challenging the best WR’s he could find. He is very confident in his skill set and he pops in a live setting. I personally requested him to take on a international recruit in attendance who was burning many Db’s in attendance with severe quickness and experienced route running. “Latney” welcomed the challenge and displayed very good coverage abilities and appeared to win the rep. He can flip his hips and handle double moves unlike many DB’s at his age. He showed very good ball judgment, plant & drive, catch up speed, burst to close, and ability to play man to man press.
