Blake Vanek Blake Vanek 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Highland | 2024 State IN – Highland – QB – 6’2″ 185lbs – 2024
Vanek is a dual-threat QB who can do as much damage with his legs as he can with his arm. He’s tall and doesn’t have an issue seeing over the line. Being tall doesn’t impact his ability to bend or be flexible which is one thing that makes him dangerous. He’s almost twitchy when he’s off and running and creates running room. He’s actually got fantastic ball-carrier vision, which is likely one reason he makes decently consistent reads when throwing the ball. Good eyes translate to different areas all over the field, which is the case with Vanek. While Vanek has a decent arm, it’s not the biggest or most accurate, but he’s consistent and steady. He’s able to step up and make just about any throw and he’s not afraid to fire it over the middle. Last season, he played 6 games for Highland at QB and looked great. In those 6 games, Vanek put up 886 passing yards, 345 rushing yards, and 12 total TDs. He really was efficient and effective when he got his chance. Vanek has every reason to take another step this fall, and I’d like to bet he will.

Jayden Buchanan Jayden Buchanan 5'7" | 150 lbs | QB Roncalli | 2025 State IN – Roncalli – QB – 5’7″ 150lbs – 2025
Buchanan is one of the most compelling players in the entire state. People have been anxiously waiting for him to take over and see how he handles the Varsity gig when he steps up. Time and time again on JV, at every camp I’ve seen him, and during 7 on 7 season Buchanan is lighting up defenses and scoring TDs at a high rate. He’s a fantastic athlete and can run. He’s able to really open it up and eat up chunks of yardage. He’s twitchy and can make a defender miss in a phone booth. “He’s 5’7″ why is he QB and not a WR if he can move like that?” Well because he’s incredibly accurate, throws guys open, throws with anticipation, and has a fairly big arm for someone standing at 5’7″. Even this past week at the UINDY Mega Camp he was throwing heat. He gets this look in his eye when he’s locked in and he just cooks. Buchanan is set to take over the starting job in Roncalli this season and I’m pretty excited to see how he does.

Colton Bath Colton Bath 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Northview | 2026 State IN – Northview – QB – 6’0″ 165lbs – 2026
Bath is a young upcoming QB who can deal a ton of damage with his arm. He likes to sit in the pocket, read defenses, and pick them apart. For his age, he’s got fairly decent footwork and a really solid arm. He doesn’t have a funky release and can grip the ball easily. He’s 6’0″ now, but also seems like he’s going to keep growing a bit. By the time he’s a Senior, I could see Bath having a 6’3″ 190lbs frame and being a really good-looking QB. I think for him it’ll just be how he handles everything and grows through it. He got some action last year and looked decent. He’s confident, able to see the field, and throw a head of someone and give them a chance. He’s athletic enough to step up and take off and do some damage with his legs as well. I could see Bath coming out and lighting up defenses and becoming a high-rising QB in the class. He’s got all the tools, looks good on the field, and should have his opportunity starting this fall.
