The athletes had to wait several minutes to learn that Clement had won the razor-thin competition by two thousandths of a second.
But Woods, a Southern Arkansas signee, brushed aside the slight disappointment to help lead his Wildcats to their first state championship since 2004 with just five athletes participating in a hectic day to edge University Lab by three points in the final standings.

The 10.55-second — or, more specifically, 10.545-second — time in the 100-meter dash marked a personal-record for Woods, as did his 21.46-second 200-meter dash. And he also led off the Wildcats’ victorious 4×100-meter (composite record 41.57 seconds) and 4×200-meter (1:27.36). He plans to participate in both sports in Magnolia, Ark.

A speedy, under-the-radar 2025 prospect to watch ran the second and third legs of the 4×200-meter and record-setting 4×100-meter relays, respectively. “RJay” will head to Dallas this weekend for Rivals camp.

The Southeastern Louisiana signee wrapped up an impressive multisport high school career Friday with a pair of victories in the long jump and triple jump, including a personal record in the latter. Goodly recorded marks of 23-00.00 and 48-10.00 in the two events.

The Louisiana (Lafayette) wide receiver signee finished second to Goodly in both the long and triple jumps with marks of 22-05.25 and 46-05.50, respectively.

The highly touted 2026 prospect helped the Cubs to a second-place team finish with his second-place shot put (50-04.00) and finished eighth in the discus (106.07).

The receiver and returner was another standout of the Cubs’ strong team showing with his personal-record 40.57-second time in the 300-meter hurdles to finish fourth in the event and third leg of the team’s season-best 4×400-meter relay (3:22.57), which finished second.

The graduating senior athlete finished second in the javelin with a personal-record 162-04.

The rising senior added his own personal record and a third-place finish to the Bobcats’ scoring efforts with a 12-11.50 pole vault.

And, joining Hebert and Earnest, another Erath football standout added a personal record and fourth-place finish with a 48-09.50 shot put.

The linebacker recorded a personal-best 144-10 in the discus to reach the podium with a third-place finish and added a ninth-place shot put mark of 35-06.00.

The Bulldogs’ young quarterback finished fourth in the javelin with a personal-record 153-08.

The rising junior, who recently picked up a ULM offer, ran a 21.89-second 200-meter to finished fifth in the event.

The big 2024 offensive tackle earned a couple points for his Panthers with a fifth-place finish in the shot put (48-02.00).
