We are also showing the offensive linemen some love in this feature. We all know the big boys make ways for their running backs to shine.
ZJ Grady, LB, Beauregard, 2025
Grady has a very high motor. When their kickoff team hits the field, he is the first one down field trying to make the tackle. Grady is very active with his hands from the release. He keeps his team going on defense. He is a player coaches love to have. His stock should start rising soon. He is a guy to know.
Xavier Havis, ATH, Albertville, 2024
There is nothing like finding a very versatile player. Havis is a guy that can line up at several different positions. I think he is going to be a hybrid LB/S on the next level. Havis has good hips that will allow him to bebvery efficient in coverage. Havis has the size to come up and be supportive in rushing the pass as well as run supportive. He is going to see his stock rise after this season. He is a guy to know. I think he is a division one prospect flying under the radar.
DeAndre Williams DeAndre Williams 6'0" | 230 lbs | LB Mortimer Jordan | 2024 AL , LB, Mortimer Jordan, 2024
Williams plays the game the old school way. He gets behind his pads to make big hits. He keeps his shoulders square at the line. Williams does a good job of getting a nice drop in coverage on passing plays. He has some nice size at 6-foot, 230 pounds. He knows how to read plays. Williams gets to the ball with anger. I love the way he sheds blocks then gets to the ball carrier.
Zachary Taylor, DL, St Michael, 2024
Taylor is very fundamental on the defensive line. He does the things the right. When his opponent blocks down, he doesn’t go straight up field. He knows how to crash down and stick to his assignment. Taylor is going to receive some division one attention soon. I think he is going to be an interior defensive lineman on the next level. He is very ruthless in the trenches.
