We are also showing the offensive linemen some love in this feature. We all know the big boys make ways for their running backs to shine.
Taijh Overton Taijh Overton 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Williamson | 2025 State AL , DB, Williamson, 2025
Overton is a very polished free safety that plays his position very well. Overton is a guy that is hardly ever caught out of position. He is just as good supporting the run as he is at playing the pass. He makes it very dangerous for quarterbacks to throw the ball deep in the middle of the field. Overton understands that he isn’t supposed to get beat deep when he has a deep zone to play.
Jermaine McCree, CB, Williamson, 2026
McCree is a player that makes big plays on defense for his team. His skills are very good to be such a young player. McCree knows how to play zone and man coverage with the best of them. He has good hips that helps him close quickly on plays. McCree also knows how to use the field to his advantage. He knows how to keep himself in good position to always come out as the winner when the ball is in the air. He has received offers from UAB and Alabama A&M. More are coming.
Shemar Welch Shemar Welch 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB McGill Toolen | 2024 State AL , McGill-Toolen, DB, 2024
Welch is a straight up ball hawk on defense. When a quarterback makes a bad throw to his side, he makes them pay. Welch is very quick on his feet. He changes directions well, and he also does not mind coming up to make hits. Welch also has some good speed. It isn’t very easy to beat this guy.
Kamden Miller, LB, Montgomery Catholic, 2025
Miller is a linebacker that needs to be talked about. This young man has an old school style. He stops runners in their tracks. He is one of the best form tacklers I have seen in a high school linebacker. On his film, there are several plays where he stands running backs up straight. Miller has a lot of potential. He is definitely a guy that is going to be playing on Saturdays one day.
