SOUTH DAKOTA-- We move over into South Dakota to show off who are our newcomers to our 2025 rankings. These first eight prospects showed off some impressive sophomore tapes, have made great gains already this offseason, and a handful of these prospects you might hear more about at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase this weekend in Aberdeen. Let's keep grinding thru this 2025 South Dakota class putting the Mount Rushmore State on the map!

I have gotten to watch Corban on a huge amount of reps this offseason and it certainly has paid dividends for this young man, as Corban checks in our top 40 overall and RB6.

This kid is a certified work-horse and I have seen his change of direction become much more agile from January until now as he's also grown a ton playing 7v7 football for South Dakota Elite as a pass-catcher that has the patience and vision to see the field well with great balance.

Corban's best football is ahead of him too, as I think you are going to see a huge spike in this kid's next level upside, into his junior season, as I also love his A+ character as well that grooms him well for the next-level inside the locker room.

[player_tooltip player_id='666104' first='Rylan' last='Larson'], DL, Canton (2025) Twitter

I got to watch Rylan recently in Iowa at the The Line Showcase, and the athletic numbers he put up in testing fit with my evaluation of him in the #10 overall spot, and #2 for defensive linemen in South Dakota for the 2025 class.

He showed great balance with his smooth hands and showed off a quick trigger with his get off the snap skills, and you can already tell, has a solid well-put together football IQ that can read the angle and positioning early before the play develops.

Rylan also shows off a big motor that comes out strongly when he gets a free lane to the ball-carrier which comes with a significant physical presence with his contact level

[player_tooltip player_id='798288' first='Easton' last='Van Scoyk'], DL, Dakota Valley (2025) Twitter

Easton was a versatile prospect on both sides of the line for the Panthers, and due to the change he can cover in his 6'3 220 pound frame, he came in at #14 overall and #3 for defensive linemen but one that I already can tell will be a stockriser by next-update.

What sticks out to me at defensive end for Easton was how much length this kid has in his plethora, as he has the ability to reach for the ball carrier that will be slightly out of reach for other defensive ends in the backfield and the added physicality and strength this young man has with his hands certainly is eye-catching as well.

Easton can also be described as rangy, as he has the full-throttled motor to get outside the box with great stamina and run down the ball carrier. A prime example of a prospect that is a "finisher" all the way thru every rep he's given, as this young man excites me going into his junior season at Dakota Valley.

[player_tooltip player_id='800508' first='Gus' last='Stout'], RB, Kadoka Area (2025) Tape

Gus might be from a sleeper part of the state, but don't think for a second that this kid does not have that downhill east-west running ability to get downfield quickly thru heavy traffic, as Gus chimes into our rankings at #27 overall.

All Gus needs is one-cut to find his opening as the instinctive skillset within his cuts sets the tone for the entirety of his 6'0 180 pound frame to go the distance of the field.

This young man is built like a freaking freight-train with his measurables as he plays way bigger than that frame gives off, and should make scholarship-level programs make the trip to small town of Kadoka, SD over the next several months as this young man has so much durability to give in his blue-collar running ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='800371' first='Boston' last='Katzer'], QB, McCook Central-Montrose (2025) Twitter

Boston is a 6'3 165 pound quarterback that showed off from his first clip of tape of a QB that plays with a fearless demeanor when he leaves the pocket, and found his way onto our rankings as QB5 in South Dakota.

The poise Boston shows off inside the pocket shows good balance, and I certainly see him showing more comfort inside in the coming years, as this young man has some loaded arm strength and a developed touch ball on his intermediate routes that has solid precison.

The arm talent Boston has shows off some high upside at the next-level, as he has the measurables college coaches will want to see at camps in the coming years come to light and I see this young man's vision going thru his progressions only getting more polished with more reps into his junior season for McCook Central-Montrose.

[player_tooltip player_id='472843' first='Israel' last='Ouverson'], OL/DL, Madison (2025) Twitter

Israel caught my eyes at our last Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, as he made my first team All-Camp Team and checks into our rankings at the #4 overall prospect in South Dakota in the 2025 class.

Israel is deadly off his first step with his excellent punch, as this kid is a finisher that will drive-block his defender into the next area code with the high amount of strength he brings. He also has really good balance with his pad-level in my eyes as he shows off good consistency across the board on tape.

One of the brewing developments for Israel is training his hands to be even more aggressive as he wins a plethora of his reps with his strength and if he can put together more feist with his hands, I certainly can see FCS football in his future as this young man keeps getting strong the more I track him from the weight room. Excited to watch him at this Saturday's Prep Redzone Dakota Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='399787' first='Parker' last='Denne'], RB, Mitchell (2025) Twitter

The high bounce of agility Parker shows off with his footwork was made his tape really fun to watch amongst the first few clips, as Parker checks into our 2025 rankings as the 2nd ranked running back in South Dakota.

The overall athleticism Parker has in his plethora will make the defense want to want to crowd the inside box with an extra linebacker, as this kid's burst in the open field makes a very tough match for the defense.

I was also really impressed with how durable Parker was for his size around the edges as a pass-catcher as he shows off great field awareness skills on tape. Another prospect I look forward to getting a live-evaluation on at Saturday's Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='797821' first='Ryland' last='Carroll'], DB, Brandon Valley (2025) Twitter

The first defensive back on our 2025 newcomers list is [player_tooltip player_id='797821' first='Ryland' last='Carroll'] of Brandon Valley, who I have evaluated as the best defensive back in the 2025 class in South Dakota.

Ryland has strong vision in the secondary, and can change his direction on a dime giving himself plenty of range to seal off one wide receiver and get to the next in a quick nick of time. Regardless of his coverage area, this kid has such great instincts causing chaos on long or short passes.

Another skillset I love about Ryland, is just how fluid he his in his short-field quickness to get back to the ball, as I love this kid as a great fit for playing on Saturdays and is a defensive back prospect you go outside the measurables threshold for.
