2024:
Riddick Westley Riddick Westley 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Elkton-Lake Benton | 2024 State SD (RB/LB), Highlights
Westley made some big strides in the Elk backfield as a Junior. Really showing his speed once he gets out of the backfield, but also showing good body-control in the open field. When in the open field, he does a good job moving his feet to slow the defender, and then make that big cut to lose him. Along with that speed, he will also be very physical when a tackler closes in on him. Defensively, he reads keys well and fills the run gap quickly with his speed and physicality.
Carson Griffith Carson Griffith 6'4" | 200 lbs | TE Elkton Lake Benton | 2024 State SD (TE/DL), Highlights
Griffith has the frame that makes him a good target from the TE position. Along with the frame, he adds athleticism. Plenty of speed, agility and muscle to add to his game makes him a dangerous offensive threat. Off the snap, he has a quick release to get open early in the route. His speed and height make him very difficult to cover for the defense. Lastly, his hands and big play ability after the catch make him a very dangerous threat for the offense.
Quinten Poindexter Quinten Poindexter 6'0" | 140 lbs | ATH Elkton/Lake Benton | 2024 SD (WR/DB), Highlights
Poindexter is really good on the defensive perimeter. Pass coverage or run support, he’s the guy you want out there for your defense. He adds another Defensive End type athlete on the edge with his style of play. Keeping his outside arm free when taking on blocks and being very physical with the blocker to shed him. Also having the speed to run with the deep routes, or come up and make tackles. The form on his tackles work perfect when tackling ballcarriers of any size.
2025:
Tanner Stein Tanner Stein 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Elkton-Lake Benton | 2025 State SD (WR/DB), Highlights
Stein exploded on the scene this season, during the season and in the offseason. Showing his speed, hands and concentration to make himself a favorite target during the season. Really showing his big play ability after the catch with his agility and speed. Made many quick cuts into the open field and accelerated past the defense. Also showing he can compete across all levels of competition being a kid on the All-Camp teams in most camps or showcases he has been at.
Blake DeVries Blake DeVries 5'10" | 170 lbs | RB Elkton-Lake Benton | 2025 State SD (RB/LB), Highlights
DeVries had a good Sophomore Season to put his name on the radar. From his LB position, he showed great football instincts getting his hand in on many plays. A high level of physicality got him to through blocks and in position to make tackles on nearly every run play. Showing he can be a reliable rushing threat for the offense as well. A lot of speed, but also vision to find the closest gap and attack it for a good chunk of yardage.
Rylan Coe (OL/DL), Highlights
Coe did a great job anchoring the offensive line this season. I thought he did great job getting the snap off quickly and getting himself in position to make blocks after. Also doing a good job of absorbing the pass rush but not giving up ground in the trenches so the offense can stay moving forward. His footwork gave him a good base to increase his strength and leverage and make his play on the O-line very effective.
2026:
Quintin Westley (DL), Highlights
Westley also exploded on the scene this season and can emerge as a player to watch across the State. Being a Freshman, he played like a seasoned vet on the defensive line. Quick off the snap and using his speed and strength to get him into the backfield consistently and put pressure on the offense. Sealing the edge, consistently taking on blocks and not giving up ground on the edge. Lastly, he took on pull blocks perfectly and kept the play in the backfield.
Colt Beck (QB/DB), Highlights
Beck had a good Freshman season and shows a lot of promise for the future. Being asked to fill some big shoes next season, he showed some promising glimpses of a bright future for the Elks. An accurate arm with a good deal of strength throwing some good passes at various distances. Also showing good decision-making in the read option as well as passing the ball. Lastly, he shows to be a good role player on the defensive side. Does his job and makes the sure play from his position.
Eliot Erickson (DB), Highlights
Erickson will add another threat to and already dangerous Elk offense. Primarily getting snaps out of the backfield, he shows the athleticism to play many positions. Having a good burst of speed, agility and vision to make him a playmaker. Showing glimpses of good route-running and hands to make him a good target. Lastly, showing his playmaking ability not being an easy tackle with his balance and strength to keep moving after being hit.
