Including the Class 5 State Champion Highland Springs Springers this District is well represented, and should be a major playoff come playoff time once again. Part 1 is below of our Rising Juniors from the Colonial District:
We start out with the reigning state champs and rightfully so as they return a number of key starters making them heavy favorites in the district. Noah Jenkins Noah Jenkins 6’2″ | 185 lbs | DB Highland Springs | 2024 State VA is one of the returning starters set to take a bigger leap in 2023. The 3 star defensive back/receiver for the Springers, Jenkins is rising up the recruiting rankings on several different sites. A physical corner standing at 6’2 and 200 lbs., this rising junior makes plays. He also demonstrates great explosion at receiver atoning for a very high yards after the catch number. Being coveted by several FBS schools across the East Coast, Jenkins has his top five down to South Carolina, Penn State, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh. I do not believe he has set his commitment date yet, but when he does expect a number of schools to be tuning in.

The 3 star gunslinger is also back for the Springers as they’re quest for a repeat continues. All Martin did last year was account for over 3,000 total yards and 43 combined touchdowns not too shabby. One of the strongest arms in the state, this kid really exceeds throwing the deep ball with his accuracy. Already gaining FBS offers from Indiana, Marshall and Charlotte this senior to be has all the makings of a Division 1 quarterback.

If anyone is next in line to take on Highland Springs its the Varina Blue Devils and with guys like this man leading the way. Edwards may be only 5’8 but he plays like the game like he is 6’4. Absolutely relentless motor on this all state selection and do not let him get out in the open field otherwise good night. The kid also gets it done in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA and has two division 1 offers already. Come next fall whether its receiver, safety or even as a returner expect that list of division 1 offers to grow well over double digits.

Another potential Division 1 playmaker returns for the Blue Devils in 2023 and that would be Rodney (RJ) Allen. A rangy outside linebacker for Varina Allen can play the run and the pass very well, he is also one of the strongest backers in the conference. What also makes him a standout is the work and pride he takes on special teams, watch every kickoff his squad has, he is in on the tackle. I expect a big senior season for Allen one that should lead to multiple FBS offers.
