Sehome Mariners – 7-3 (4-3)
The Mariners surprised many people by being a more competitive team than people anticipated. They almost made the post-season and have a very good chance at making it to playoff play this season. They will lose some key members of the team as well. RB Tommy Funk is graduating after his monster 147 carry 1,336 rush yards, and 15 touchdowns. Team leader and defensive workhorse Max Malo Max Malo 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Sehome | 2023 State WA will be headed off to play with his brother Tim at Brown University after his stellar 67.5 tackle (11.5 for loss) senior season. Run-stuffer Habib Bello Habib Bello 6'4" | 285 lbs | DL Sehome | 2023 State WA is off to the University of Washington after he helped contribute 29.5 tackles (6.5 for loss, 2 sacks) during last season.
The Mariners will be bringing back one of the best young QB-WR combinations in Nolan Wright Nolan Wright 5'10" | 175 lbs | QB Sehome | 2026 State WA and Andre Watson Andre Watson 5'11" | 180 lbs | WR Sehome | 2025 State WA . Wright, started at QB last season as just a freshman and showed tremendous upside on the field. He throws the ball on the run very well and hits his receivers when they are in full stride. He uses his legs well too, getting scramble yardage when the defense leaves it open. ’25 WR/DB Andre Watson Andre Watson 5'11" | 180 lbs | WR Sehome | 2025 State WA will be coming back after an outstanding sophomore year. He had 48 catches for 698 yards with 9 receiving touchdowns. He was a stud on defense as well, having 7 interceptions on the year, 2 of those being pick 6’s. He also had a punt return TD and a kick return TD. He’s a top playmaker in the whole conference. ’26 OL/DL Cole Turrell is set for a big year and will likely step into a big role and adapt just fine. 6’6″ WR/DB Braddock Duckworth will be a red-zone threat all season given his frame and jumping abilities. ’26 WR Adam Parry could be a name that could surprise people on the offensive side. This Sehome team will be young once again, but they will have some varsity experience at key positions.
Games to keep an eye on: September 1st @ Mount Baker, September 29th @ Lynden, October 5th vs Anacortes
