IOL | Liam Vaughn | 2025 | Walled Lake Western | Hudl
Liam was the best lineman I watched during the PM showcase. All in all, the O/D line group this time around wasn’t as stacked as the AM session, but Liam shined going against 2024’s. In general, Liam knows what he’s doing. His footwork is good, and he never gets off-balance. He was one of the best at consistently getting his hands on the opposing D-Lineman’s frame, staying square, and he’s big and strong enough not to get pushed back. He gets low and has real good leverage, and is overall one of the best linemen in his class, especially considering his Fall 2022 stats. Give it a year, and Liam Vaughn could be a high-end D2 or MAC prospect.
ATH | Gavin Noonan Gavin Noonan 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Walled Lake Western | 2024 State MI | 2024 | Walled Lake Western | Hudl
I’ve been looking forward to watching Gavin for quite some time, and I must say, I was impressed. Repping at Receiver, Gavin was one of if not the most crisp and agile route-runner for both sessions. His agility and overall change of direction was phenomenal, and it’s no wonder he’s a swiss army knife for a state championship contending program. Great weapon, especially in the short-mid-range passing game, and I expect a great Fall season from Gavin. Over the past month, Gavin has received his first wave of offers from Valpo, Lawrence Tech, Davenport, and Wayne State. I expect a lot more offers for him over the next year, and I honestly expect a breakout into some Divison 1 offers.
RB | Billy Roberson II Billy Roberson II 5'10" | 170 lbs | RB Lake Orion | 2024 State MI | 2024 | Lake Orion | Hudl
Billy is another guy I’ve wanted to see in person, and I must say, he may have been the most impressive RB I watched all week. First off, he passes the eye test with flying colors. He’s built very well. You can tell from the jump he’s strong and athletic without much body fat. In agility drills, Roberson stood out as being the obvious best out of what was a thin group. During the competition, you could tell he’s a drilled and polished route-runner, has good hands, and immediately looks to the open field after receiving the ball. It’s no wonder that Roberson has 6 Division 1 offers.
LB | Isaiah Veatch Isaiah Veatch 6'0" | 220 lbs | LB Waterford Mott | 2024 State MI | 2024 | Waterford Mott | Hudl
I’ve seen Isaiah a few times this offseason, and he keeps proving his college worth. He’s one of the strongest-looking linebackers I have ever seen, and he moves pretty dang well for his size. He has decently quick feet and had good reaction time, as well as being able to close in on RBs and hit hard with pads on. I see Veatch as a true Mike Linebacker at the next level, and I view him as a great DIII and good DII prospect right now. WIth offers from Wayne State, Hope, Northwood, and Madonna, it’s safe to say that a lot of colleges at a lot of different levels are bidding for Isaiah.
DB | Wendell Smith Wendell Smith 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Pershing | 2024 State MI | 2024 | Southfield A&T | Hudl
Without realizing who I was watching, I thought, “Who is this guy? He’s lighting it up!” Turns out, it’s Wendell Smith Wendell Smith 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Pershing | 2024 State MI , and he already holds offers from schools like Miami (OH), Bowling Green, and Eastern Michigan. His hips are loose, and his reaction time is great. He perfectly stuck onto opposing receivers and rode them all the way through their routes. Especially on deep balls, Wendell was lockdown. This is a guy that can play the boundary or slot. Very impressed by his overall agility and reaction, and It’s easy to expect another great season from him.
DB | A’Jailen King | 2024 | Oak Park | Hudl
King really impressed as an all-around DB. He’s a bit of a stockier DB than you usually see, but he showcased impressive athleticism plus great ball skills. I have four “good play” markings on my sheet for him, including an impressive interception. He truly stood out in the competition portion, and I saw a lot of coaches inquiring about King to Oak Park’s head coach, Greg Carter. A’Jalien already holds an offer from Louisville, and I expect more to come as the summer rolls on.
QB | Tyler Wright Tyler Wright 5'10" | 170 lbs | QB Detroit Renaissance | 2024 State MI | 2024 | DET Renaissance | Hudl
I’ve seen Tyler on film, and there, he’s a good dual threat. In a restricted 7v7 environment, he threw the ball quite well. His overall footwork could use some work, though he was one of the more accurate QBs at the showcase in all parts of the field. A couple of his deep balls in particular were right on the money. Plus, he had some nice power behind the shorter-range passes. I see Tyler as a good developmental DIII / NAIA prospect, and I expect to see some offers in the coming months.
QB | Andrew Schuster Andrew Schuster 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Chippewa Valley | 2024 State MI | 2024 | Chippewa Valley | Hudl
I’ve written about Andrew quite a few times now, and that’s because every time I’ve seen him, he’s been great. Good footwork gets the ball out quickly and with confidence. Of course, he’s immensely accurate as well. If you’re a Michigan coach reading this, you surely already know about Andrew. If you don’t, get on it because he’s a rising star! Schuster just received offers from Davenport, Northwood, and Tiffin in the past week.
