Brady VanDonge Brady VanDonge 5'11" | 180 lbs | QB Basehor-Linwood | 2024 State KS Baeshor Linwood (KS) 6’0 170 C/O 24
Brady VanDonge Brady VanDonge 5'11" | 180 lbs | QB Basehor-Linwood | 2024 State KS is a smart, decisive, surgeon of defenses with plus athletic traits. It is not a common thing to watch a high school junior QB prospect and his decision making and speed of process jump off the screen. VanDonge has the uncanny ability to stay a step ahead of the defense in his post snap process, doing a tremendous job finding weaknesses in zone coverages, with vision that more experienced QB prospects would strive for. This is aided by uncoachable anticipation and timing, allowing for ruthless precision when he’s asked to throw to grass. VanDonge has a very compacted set up with little to no wasted motion and can put some juice on the ball on short and intermediate route. He has a good enough arm to hurt defenses on vertical routes, and any shortcoming in this area is mitigated by his timing and anticipation, as well as pin-point accuracy.
David Leonard St Mary’s High School 6’1 170 C/O 24
David Leonard is an electric south paw QB prospect with the arm and legs to force opposing defenses to choose how they’d like to give up yards. Leonard is a nightmare for defenses due to the plethora of ways he can pose a threat. He has a quick release and can generate velocity with a flick of the wrist, which he can also do when rolling to his right, flashing the agility to whip his hips around and fire the ball downfield in a blink. Leonard has the timing and arm strength to throw the Russell Wilson style ‘moon ball’ on vertical routes, and he can let those fly from in and out of the pocket. Leonard shows some pocket savvy beyond his years, and does a good job keeping his eyes downfield when climbing the pocket. He is a legitimate dual threat and can put his foot in the ground and erase pursuit angles in the alley.
Jackson King Jackson King 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Bishop Carroll | 2024 State KS Bishop Carroll High School (KS) 6’3 190 C/O 24
Jackson King Jackson King 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Bishop Carroll | 2024 State KS is an accurate, athletic passer with the speed and vision of a running back. King is very dangerous running an RPO or traditional option system, as he possesses excellent eyes and patience to force the defense to commit and quickly find the vulnerability. King is especially dangerous when he pulls the ball and runs, with a smooth, long stride to eat up yards in a flash when defenders are caught out of position. King shows very good accuracy and timing on post and crossing routes, throwing with very good touch, and allowing his receivers to run through the ball. King flashes very good spatial awareness in the pocket, with an innate ability to find alternative launch points when the pocket gets dirty. He is a threat to break off big runs, with an extra gear once he gets on his horse.
Russell Roweton – Willard High School 6’3 190 C/O 24
Russell Roweton is a strong armed, versatile QB prospect with a frame that would suit a power running back. Roweton is a high velocity thrower, with a ball that explodes out of arm. His release can appear to come out low at times, but somewhat in the same vein as former NFL QB Phillip Rivers, the velocity and quickness of release make it difficult for defensive linemen to get their paws up on time to bat the ball down. Roweton flashes coordinated, choppy feet when he is patient in the pocket, and he can afford to be thanks to his well-developed lower body, making him very difficult for pass rushers to corral. This is not to say he doesn’t possess quickness and escape-ability, with a sixth sense for dodging incoming defenders at the last minute. Roweton is a legitimate threat on the ground, running with excellent power and fearlessness.
Donovyn Omolo – Conway High School (AR) 6’2 205 C/O 24
Our second south paw in this group, Donovyn Omolo has a lightening quick release and can attack every level of the defense. Omolo’s release absolutely jumps off the screen, and he makes it look easy, generating velocity with very little body behind the throw, which he can do on the run and without the requirement of a set throwing base. In addition, Omolo has one of the strongest arms out of the entire group of 18 QB prospects, with one throw in particular on which he had his feet on his own goal line and the ball hitting the receiver for a catch at midfield. Moreover, he has the velocity to blow the ball by defenders in tight windows. Omolo flashes some mesmerizing arm angle magic, which coupled with very good vision, allows him to find throwing lanes on the run when it seems like there are none.
