I’ve been compiling a list of recruits whom I believe are bona fide FBS/FCS talent. With the transfer portal, many high school recruits are getting overlooked who traditionally would’ve had more options. Charlie Meehleib Charlie Meehleib 6'4" | 225 lbs | DL Elizabeth Forward | 2024 State PA is the only prospect of the five 2024 prospects highlighted that has at least one offer. Don’t worry; I’ll be the voice of reason that screams, “GET THESE KIDS TO YOUR SUMMER CAMP!
- Gavin Kambody
- D’andre Cochran D’andre Cochran 5'9" | 155 lbs | DB Penn Hills | 2024 State PA
Charlie is quick off the ball plus has good size and strength at 6’4 247 lbs. His wingspan and other natural attributes suit him well as a college 5-technique. He’s also capable of being an athletic OT should he ever bulk his way off of the defensive line. He does a good job of keeping his gap integrity, and using his hands to playoff blocks from the D line position. He has a good motor and he redirects well displaying good athleticism. On offense, he uses his pad level to get leverage down blocking or getting blocks on the second level. His agility in general also aids him well in pass protection. I don’t think he has finished growing or reached his maximum strength yet. Meehleib has one FCS offer from Bucknell.
Gavin Kambody
Gavin Kambody
Kambody is a brute on the field and plays with intensity. He runs the alley aggressively, looking to hit someone. Kambody has a sharp football IQ that allows him to read and react quickly. Gavin displays good hips and range while playing free safety on the backend. He has flashed good ball skills and aggressive open-field tackling abilities. Kambody is a good blitzer and is not concerned with the RB pass protector. He exhibits all the characteristics of a good special teams player at the next level. At 6’1″ and 185 pounds, he has the size and speed to be a FCS level caliber DB.
D’Andre is another hard nosed pound-for-pound athlete. He’s quick twitched with good footwork and a controlled backpedal. his fluid hips allow him to play centerfield well on the backend. He is an explosive specialist with the ball in his hands, evident when he’s playing wide receiver, and returning interceptions. he runs the alley and lays the wood at safety. He runs sharp routes, and is quick in transition on curls and comebacks. He’s a playmaker that’s capable of making people miss and catching a deep pass. He is gifted both physically and athletically to play safety at the college level, yet he is also versatile enough to play cornerback. He’s getting some FCS attention at the moment.
Mike is a coaches’ son that has a promising future playing at the college level. As a left-handed passer, he has gained valuable experience in high school as a high-volume thrower. He is a pro-style quarterback with sound mechanics and technique. From the pocket, he is able to complete passes on all three levels, and he executes play-action movements with precision. Evans has demonstrated an ability to throw accurate deep passes and fit balls into tight windows with his arm strength. He also has the skill to go through his progressions while keeping his eyes downfield when scrambling, making him a dangerous runner. Every season, Evans has improved in terms of arm strength and poise, and his progression is expected to continue at the next level.
Carmen demonstrates proficiency in playing the free safety position, effectively attacking the ball at its highest point. Metcalfe excels at intercepting passes that are contested, using strong hands. He also displays sound fundamentals as a defensive back, with fluid hips allowing him to change direction quickly and cover a wide area. Carmen possesses good football intelligence and is also a physical tackler. He has good ball skills and loves to compete in one-on-one situations. Metcalfe exhibits speed playing WR and is built for college special teams.
