This session is also a time where I talk about some of the top prospects with film that show why they are considered some of the best. Let’s take a look.
Dezmond Martin, OL, Byhalia, 2024
Martin is a big boy who has been picking up division one interests. His head coach sent me his film and I instantly became a fan of him. Martin is very strong. You can see his strength on film. He runs through his opponents on running plays. Martin also gets downs the line very well. I think that he is a guy that will make a nice guard on the next level. He is one that I will be keeping up with.
Donovan Hawkins, DL, Nettleton, 2026
Hawkins is a big boy who is hard to move in the trenches. He draws a lot of double teams. He made a lot of impact last year as only a freshman. I think the more he trains, the better he will become. When I watched his film, I noticed he needs to be more active with his hands. With his size, having those fighting hands will make it hard for anybody to block him.
Jakel Irving Jakel Irving 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Natchez | 2025 State MS , DL, Natchez, 2025
Irving is very nasty on the defensive line. I loved watching his film. All you see is sacks and tackle for losses. Irving has some very good size at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds. Irving knows how to use his long arms to his advantage. However, he is another guy I want to see have some violent hands. That will add another element to his game. He already has a very good release from the line.
Kelshaun Johnson, Hitchcock, WR, 2025
Johnson is a blazing fast receiver. He is a guy that coaches like to get the ball to quickly, and then let him do his thing with his legs. Johnson is also very elusive. Johnson knows how to shake and bake to get those extra yards. He has that twitch you want receivers to have when they are running their routes. He has been picking up a lot of attention in his recruiting. Expect a lot of offers to come in for this young man.
