And many of the events include notable football standouts, including some college-bound signees in their final high school events.

JUMPS (AND MORE)
McNeese State-signed Kentwood athlete Jer’Michael Carter is scheduled to participate in four events: high jump (5-08.00), long jump (21-06.50), triple jump (43-10.00) and javelin (140-03).
Multisport Ouachita Christian standout Tate Hamby Tate Hamby 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Ouachita Christian | 2024 State LA , a rising senior who helped the Eagles to a football title in December, will compete against Carter in all three of those jumping events — high jump (06-04.00), long jump (21-06.25) and triple jump (40-00.00) — as well as participating in the 110-meter hurdles (15.01 seconds).
Highly touted 2025 St. Martin’s star Harlem Berry Harlem Berry 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB St. Martin's | 2025 State LA will compete in the long jump (20-09.50) and also the 100-meter (10.86) and 200-meter (22.21) dashes.
Recent repeat North Central state basketball champion McKennis Savoie, also a member of his school’s football team, takes 22-02.50 and 42-03.50 market into the long jump and triple jump, respectively.
And 2025 St. Frederick standout William Patrick William Patrick 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB St. Frederick | 2025 LA , already a Louisiana Tech target, takes a 21-05.50 qualifying mark into the long jump.
HURDLES
Patrick’s teammate Montrell Conner Jr. Montrell Conner Jr. 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH St. Frederick | 2026 State LA , a highly touted 2026 standout at St. Frederick, is among the top Class 1A athlete to watch, including 15.25-second and 42.01-second qualifying times in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, respectively, and 10.93 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
And Hamby’s OCS teammate Broc Hogan Broc Hogan 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Ouachita Christian | 2023 State LA will compete in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles with qualifying times of 15.94 and 42.46 seconds, respectively.
SPRINTS/RUNS
Along with the aforementioned Berry and Conner, a pair of Southern Lab teammates will be notable football prospects to watch in the sprints and mid-range runs.
Rising senior defensive back Dylan Day Dylan Day 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Southern Lab | 2024 State LA , who recently committed to Miami, takes a 22.29-second time into the 200-meter dash, and speedy freshman receiver Denim Hunt Denim Hunt 5'8" | 135 lbs | WR Southern Lab | 2026 State LA has a 49.88-second 400-meter time.
THROWS
The throws are a particularly active event for football prospects at the Class 1A group, including Ouachita Christian teammates in each event.
Rising senior offensive lineman Ryder Bentley Ryder Bentley 6'6" | 270 lbs | OL Ouachita Christian | 2024 State LA enters the shot put and discus with qualifying marks of 46-08.50 and 119-05, respectively.
Defensive lineman Ben Devall will compete in the discus (129-09), and linebacker Noah Lovelady Noah Lovelady 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Ouachita Christian | 2024 State LA will compete in the javelin (166-07).
A pair of Northwest Louisiana standouts will compete against Bentley in the shot put in St. Mary’s rising senior Ben Bienvenu Ben Bienvenu 6'3" | 200 lbs | ATH St. Mary's | 2024 State LA e (44-03.50) and Haynesville graduating senior Toby Franklin (44-11.00)
Rising Kentwood junior Lymichael Callahan will compete in the discuses (122-04), and highly touted 2024 Jeanerette prospect Traville Frederick, a Tulane commit and Alabama target, will compete in the javelin (148-08).
