Film Review Top Kickers 2024 Class Pennsylvania

Kickers are such an important part of playing football. Making extra points, and field goals are important parts of scoring points and winning games. We all remember key moments when kickers make and miss kicks on big stages. My fondest memory of a High School kicker was when I was coaching at York High our kicker made a 45-yard field goal to win a game. High School kickers can be specialized players you get off the soccer team or they could play different positions on the field. They come in all shapes and sizes. Below are 5 kickers from the 2024 class who should get some College Football looks.    [player_tooltip player_id='377533' first='Isaac' last='Carter'] Southern Columbia. Carter has a very strong leg and he showed it on his kickoffs by kicking a ton of them into the end zone and sometimes kicking them to the back of the end zone. This is huge so you rarely have to worry about a kickoff return. As a punter, he showed an ability to kick the ball deep, and if there is a bad snap he does not panic and he still punts the ball well. Carter was 70/78 on extra points, had 45 touchbacks on kickoffs, and averaged 37 yards a punt. Carter showed a strong leg and was a consistent kicker all year.    [player_tooltip player_id='377539' first='Bennett' last='Henderson'] Upper St. Clair. Henderson was 9/12 on field goals, 46/47 on extra points, and averaged 59 yards on his kickoffs. Henderson shows a strong leg and is very accurate on field goals. He has good range on field goals and anything 40 yards or in he consistently makes. Henderson is a weapon because once you cross into the red zone you know you have 3 points in your back pocket. Finally, he showed he can handle the pressure because he hit a 47-yarder in a playoff game. Henderson with a strong Senior year should have a good chance to kick in College.    [player_tooltip player_id='307582' first='Lukas' last='Jones'] Hickory. Jones is another kicker who showed a strong leg and was able to kick the ball well. He also was able to kick the ball in the end zone close to it on kickoffs. Jones was 30/33 on extra points and averaged 46 yards on kickoffs with 5 touchbacks. Jones showed good skills as a kicker even though he only went 2/5 on field goals. He should improve and have a stronger Senior year.    [player_tooltip player_id='305020' first='Adam' last='Okonowicz'] Avon Grove. Okonowicz hit 19/19 on extra points, 2/3 from field goals, and 6 touchbacks on kickoffs. He showed a strong leg and has the ability to kick accurate field goals, even in limited opportunities. Okonowicz has received an offer from Slippery Rock, I expect more to follow.    [player_tooltip player_id='189934' first='Jared' last='Smith'] Germantown Academy. Smith, unfortunately, broke a bone below his kneecap and was not able to kick this past season. In the 2021 season, he was 6/7 on field goals and 22/25 on extra points. He showed an accurate leg on field goals and anything inside 30 yards was a makable kick for Smith. I am excited to see how he kicks this year after having the injury last year.
