Elite V showcase was the first time I got eyes on Sebastian Williams Sebastian Williams 5’7″ | 145 lbs | WR Fordham Prep | 2025 NY out of Fordham Prep and he was excellent throughout the event. Williams in individual drills stood out as one of the quicker athletes with really good twitch. In 1v1s that quickness and the ability to showcase really high level foot speed and body control were amongst the top athletes at camp. Williams is a guy I have my eyes on headed into the fall season after a strong performance.

Zymiere Shaw Zymiere Shaw 6’0″ | 165 lbs | WR New Dorp | 2024 State NY out of New Dorp had some really flashy quality reps in 1v1s, with good length at receiver Shaw is a good size target with solid hands and good athleticism, where he excelled was running routes. His change of direction and ability to cut at top speed helped him create seperation. Having some of the best reps at camp at the WR spot make Shaw a name that needs to be mentioned, headed into the season more consistency will be important for Shaw because when he is focused and locked in he was difficult to stop. If he can replicate some of his best work consistently, he will be a dangerous WR threat in the PSAL this fall.

Another Fordham Prep kid, Will Dessofy Will Dessofy 6’3″ | 185 lbs | TE Fordham Prep | 2024 State NY was a standout TE in one of the smaller position groups at the showcase. Dessofy moves really well for a TE and he showcased reliable solid hands throughout 1v1s. Dessofy’s route running was really solid and he measured at 6’3 and was able to showcase a wide catch radius and that he understands how to use his length to his advantage. Dessofy was one of the better ball catchers at the showcase regardless of position but clearly was amongst the top few tight ends last Sunday.
Quadir Mceachin Quadir Mceachin 6’0″ | 200 lbs | LB James Madison | 2024 State NY was one of the more phyiscally imposing linebacker at the showcase and he showcased one of the best size and athleticism combinations at the showcase. The running back group was filled with smaller backs with great quickness but Mceachin was able to hand with those twitchy athletes while also being able to win all the physical engagements he had in coverage. Mceachin moves really well and had one of the best performances at the showcase amongst the LB group. He just barely missed out on MVP so we needed to mention him after a strong performance.

Out of Capital Prep Harlem, Tristan Little was one of the best edge rushers at the showcase. A longer lanky rusher Littles used really solid pass rush moves to win in multiple different ways while also showcasing his athleticism through 1v1 reps. Although OL vs DL 1v1s are built more for defensive success without pads Little’s wins around the edge easily translates to the field because of his explosiveness and how he uses his hands violently around the edge. For some of the better tackles in New York his speed around the edge was just too much to deal with.
Highlights
Mason Cuccia Mason Cuccia 6’1″ | 150 lbs | QB FDR-Hyde Park | 2025 State NY was one of the most consistent quarterbacks and was the only QB to participate in both sessions. Cuccia is long and lanky but has a really good arm and was one of the better quarterbacks when it comes to staying in rhythm and delivering balls quickly. Cuccia showed a good variation of putting velocity on throws and putting more air underneath several others showcasing he can utilize his arm talent throughout a full route tree.
Highlights
Arony Lewis Arony Lewis 6’0″ | 160 lbs | ATH Far Rockaway | 2024 State NY was one of the best athletes at the showcase in terms of quickness and speed and it consistently showed throughout his reps. Lewis excelled at creating seperation and simply was too athletic for multiple defensive backs to handle. Lewis showed really solid concentration through the catch point and was one of the standouts in 1v1s and individual drills.
Highlights
James Mattera James Mattera 5’11” | 170 lbs | QB Moore Catholic | 2025 NY is in line to be the starter at Moore Catholic this fall and he was very solid at the showcase. The first time I got eyes on Mattera and he has a very smooth release, really solid fundmentals in his lower half and made plenty of anticipatory throws. Mattera showed some solid arm strength but where he really excelled was his ball placement on intermediate and shorter routes.
At 5’7 150lbs Rodney Raymond Rodney Raymond 5’7″ | 150 lbs | DB Lincoln | 2025 NY may be smaller but he plays much bigger than his size. Throughout the showcase Raymond showed the willingness to engage and use physicality to win. With his smaller frame he had some of the better quickness at camp and did a really good job of keeping his center of gravity low and using his explosiveness to burst out of cuts. Athletically Raymond is there, but physically he plays much stronger and bigger than you would anticipate making him a standout on the day.
Antonio Cobb Antonio Cobb 5’8″ | 255 lbs | DL Cardinal Hayes | 2024 State NY was one of the more dangerous interior defensive lineman at the showcase and excelled in 1v1s. Cobb has some interesting measurables at 5’8, 253lbs but the Cardinal Hayes DT showed some elite quickness and some really developed pass rush moves. His ability to stay low to the ground and use really good hip flexibility and quickness in his lower half to transition around offensive lineman at a tight angle was a very niche trait at the showcase. Not many can bend and move like Cobb and while the height limits his recruiting ceiling he absolutely showcased he is one of the most talented defensive lineman in the state.
