In this article, we are going to look at some 2025 prospects that should not be overlooked this upcoming season. The wide outs in this article are all prospects that have the potential to light up Friday nights this fall.
Romel Stevens Romel Stevens 6'6" | 205 lbs | WR Willis | 2025 State TX -Conroe Oak Ridge-6’5” 180-Pounds
The Oak Ridge wide receiver is a physical wide receiver that will cause plenty of headaches for opposing defensive coordinators. Stevens has all the physical tools to be a nightmare for opposing cornerbacks He does a great job of going up and high pointing the football. He uses his athletic ability well and he has the potential to have a strong 2023 season for Oak Ridge. Look for Stevens to wind up on scouts’ radar before the end of the 2023 season.
Taz Williams-Alvin Shadow Creek-5’11” 170-Pounds
Taz Williams is one of those wide receivers that has the ability to turn a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. Williams does a great job of catching the football and immediately starts to turn it up field. He uses his speed well to create separation from opposing defensive backs. Williams has the chance to be a breakout player this season for Shadow Creek. I expect a big season from the talented wide receiver.
Jalen Mickens Jalen Mickens 5'10" | 185 lbs | WR Willis | 2025 State TX -Willis-5’10” 185-Pounds
The Willis wide receiver is a prospect that can work effectively in the slot or split out wide. Mickens has tremendous speed and body control. He does a great job of stretching the field and using his terrific speed. Mickens does an impressive job of running his routes whether they be the deep routes or the intermediate. He is a wide receiver that has the potential to have a strong 2023 season for Willis. Mickens is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on over the next few months.

Daylan McCutcheon Daylan McCutcheon 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Lovejoy | 2025 State TX does an excellent job of creating separation from opposing defensive backs. He is a smooth route runner that is just going to continue to get better the more snaps he sees this season. McCutcheon has the impressive ability to make people miss. McCutcheon is a dangerous receiver when he gets into the open field. He has the potential to be a receiver that lights up Friday nights this fall.
Kaliq Lockett Kaliq Lockett 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Sachse | 2025 State TX -Sachse-6’1” 170-Pounds
The Sachse wide out is the type of receiver that does a great job of slipping out of tackles. Lockett will not just break one tackle he will break several, once he gets into the open field. He does a great job of being able to high point the football. Lockett must be accounted for near the end zone, or he will hurt you. Locket has the potential to put up some impressive numbers this
