Stephan Paradiso
An exciting gunslinger is making his presence known in Cedar Grove. Stephan Paradiso, the soon to be junior, lit up the field in 2022. Throwing for 1729 yards and 23 touchdowns to go with it, Stephan may be the most exciting offensive player coming out of the National Red division.
An underappreciated talent, Stephan has the qualities you’re looking for in an elite QB. He has powerful arm strength, and is able to get his whole body into the throw. He’s got some zip to his throw, tossing it on a line and preventing the ball from hanging in the air for too long. And when plays get dicey, Stephan is able to keep the play alive while simultaneously keeping his eyes down field to find the open receiver. Get this kid some looks, because he will be lighting up scoreboards these next two years.
Jasim Shiggs
Jasim Shiggs
A stud defensive back in 2022, Jasim Shiggs played all over the field for Montclair Immaculate. The big sized safety was a playmaker at multiple levels for his defense, supporting the run and pass game extremely well. Jasim was found all over the field, playing coverage and making 3 interceptions on the season, and darting up field to prevent the runner from making it to the second level. Jasim was even found in the backfield bringing in 2 sacks and 10.5 TFLs. A player that is able to recognize the play before it unfolds, Jasim may be the top defender returning in 2023 for National Red.
Frankie Renois
Frankie Renois
An athlete in the truest sense, Frankie Renois of Glen Ridge played a huge role on their offense in 2022. Lining up as a slot receiver and running back as well, Frankie was able to amass just under 1000 total yards on offense and 5 touchdowns. A major threat in the pass game, Frankie has a great pair of hands that complement his catching concentration. He is able to bring the ball in even when he is heavily covered. I expect Frankie to surpass the 1000 yard mark in 2023.
Jordan Jenkins Jordan Jenkins 6’0″ | ATH Immaculate Conception | 2024 NC is a player that makes a rare list of athletes that I have covered in multiple series. A dynamic QB and LB, Jordan also played RB and WR as well. Jordan is one of the players I’m really looking forward to watching in 2023.
He can make guys miss in the run, pass, and receiving game, and is extremely hard to contain. Jordan makes it very difficult for opponents to prepare for him since he is never isolated in one position, but fluidly moves around the field. I really think there are no limits to what he can do. Jordan is an electric player on the field, and 2023 is setting up to be a big season for him.

The final player on this list dominated on the defensive side of the ball in 2022. Nick Iannacone Nick Iannacone 5’11” | 185 lbs | ATH Cedar Grove | 2024 NJ of Cedar Grove was a worry for any QB trying to throw it deep. Bringing 6 interceptions in and returning one for a touchdown, Nick was a true ball hawk at the safety position. With the ability to survey the entire field, Nick let the plays develop and used his quickness to shut down any further progress. A sure tackler, Nick brought in 61 total tackles in 2022. While he was a force on defense, Nick is also starting to make a name for himself on the offensive side of the ball. He scored 10 total touchdowns as he played RB and WR for Cedar Grove.
