Osburn is a player that flies around the football field and can make a play in the backfield in a hurry. He has great pursuit and can chase the ball carrier down from behind the play. He plays disciplined in the running game and when playing against option, attacks the QB and forces him to make a quick decision. He is quick off of the line and can use his speed to beat blockers to get in the backfield to put pressure on the QB or get a sack. He is able to drop back into coverage at times and can come up with interceptions when he gets the chance.
Tran is the definition on a run stuffer as he is able to clog the middle and take on multiple blocks at a time. He always seems to be in on tackles, controlling his gap and then shedding the block to get to the ball carrier. He keeps a low base and can get off the ball quickly getting under the opponents pads and being able to use his strength to push them back. He is able to show good power moves and hand placement when taking on blocks. Also can see some good speed for his size, he has good pursuit and can get back into plays by rallying to the football. He is under the radar but should be someone to keep an eye on.
Boatman is a player that will be trying to take a leap forward this season and has the intangibles to do so. He is fast off of the line and is quick to get into the backfield to slow the ball carrier down. He is good at using that speed and quickness to beat opposing lineman getting them off balanced and allowing him to put pressure on the QB. He can use his size advantage to get extension, read where the ball is going and swim or rip past the blocker. Is a raw instinctual talent that will have the ability to grow into his own in this system.
Highlights
Taylor is explosive out of his stance and can get on top of the lineman anticipating the snap count. He is able to take on multiple blocks and control his gap, still being able to make the tackle. He has quick hands and is able to beat opposing players to better hand positioning on the inside and getting into the right position to make a play. At times this helps him be able to play multiple gaps and get back into plays when the back is trying to find a lane. He doesn’t get up the field too fast and is able to limit cutback lanes flowing with and playing double gaps. Will be a player to watch as his stock will rise quickly.
Field-Gordon a nightmare for opponents and is a lot to take on for just one person. He is usually taking on multiple blocks or is being chipped but sill finds a way to make it in on a play. He is able to use his strength to battle to shed blocks and make it into the backfield to make a tackle. When he is not able to shed blocks all he needs is one free arm to pull a back down. He does have some sneaky quickness at his size to be able to use his hands to club and swim past blockers to put pressure and hurry the QB. He is able to play multiple gaps and brings down the ball carrier with aggression when he gets a hold on them. Will be one of the top DL in this class to keep on your radar.
