5 Shreveport area players PRZLA hopes to catch as spring opens

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The LHSAA's official window for spring football opened Monday with a few schools around the state already taking the field and the vast majority kicking off their sessions in the next two weeks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Redzone Louisiana has already started making some rounds, but won't be able to catch everyone. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We'll start over the next few days by pointing out and highlighting five players from each area we'd like to see — with priority given to rising upperclassmen and for prospects we'd be seeing for the first time, the first time in an extended stretch or the first time since some notable development.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>And a series will follow highlighting six or more student-athletes from each school visited with a mix of returning veterans, breakout candidates and underclassmen to know for years to come.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Shreveport area was among those that easily could've warranted a top 10 or 20. Prep Redzone Louisiana saw him a bit during spring 7-on-7, but his size and how he plays with contact will go a long way in continued evaluation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='710075' first='Devin' last='Harper'] — 6-5, 295 OL — Captain Shreve (2025)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Harper has become one of the hottest names on the recruiting trail with another impressive string of big-time offers — including Georgia, Alabama, TCU, Texas, Penn State and Missouri — since colleges have been able to get out to campuses. Either he or rising senior teammate [player_tooltip player_id='421526' first='Jeremy' last='Duncan'] could have represented the Gators' offensive line on this list, with the latter himself a tall, long Division-I prospect and entering his final spring, summer and season of high school. But for a prospect who looks on his available film — and sounds talking to some coaches — to be in the mix among the state's top offensive linemen for the class, Santoro does still feel somewhat under the radar entering his final high school offseason.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
