Continue ReadingEvery offense can benefit from a player who can get downfield and stretch the opposing team’s defense. We will be discussing the players with the top yards per reception from the past season from the 2024 Class. These players made their case for more touches and should become focal targets for their teams next season.
https://twitter.com/KeenanF2024rnThe Titans had a power run game that setup the pass type offense in 2022. The loss of the bruising Devyn Jones will require an evaluation of which talented players need to touch the ball more. One of the leaders in this evaluation should be Flannery. Establishing the run will still be part of the gameplan but the 6’2″ 215lb tight end averaged over 25 yards a reception last year with 5 touchdowns. Flannery’s ability to sell his route is an asset. He often could lull a defensive back into thinking he was going to block before turning up field for a big play. With his skillset and frame, Flannery will see a tremendous jump his senior year in production.
https://twitter.com/DaltonAmen22rnAlso averaging over 25 yards per reception, Amen is a speedster who puts constant pressure on defensive backfields. He has a tremendous burst off the line that doesn’t allow defenders to flip their hips quick enough to minimize separation. He can take the top off a defense in a moments notice. Amen also displayed an ability to make in route adjustments to always give himself an opportunity to make a play on the ball. Amen should be involved in multiple ways for Malcolm’s offense next season.
https://twitter.com/AndrewB2024rnThe second coming of Jaylen Lloyd maybe upon us with Brown. A beast on the track is starting to translate to the football field. Brown averaged over 23.5 yards per reception in 2022, striking fear into opposing teams defensive gameplans. The long striding wide receiver is hard to run with and is improving his route running to create solid separation in the open field where he can be dangerous. The Eagles will undoubtedly make Brown a focal point in their offense and will dare defenses to play him in man so they can take shots downfield to the speedster. I am expecting a highlight filled year for Brown.
https://twitter.com/jeremiahG08rnGorham could be the most gifted athlete of the four in this article. He has played multiple positions for the Bears and is a threat to make a house call every time he touches the ball. Gorham averaged almost 5 yards a carry and over 22 yards per reception his junior year. He combined for over 1300 yards of offense, scoring 13 touchdowns. He is shifty in the otpen field with a fantastic ability to put his foot in the ground to make cuts. His quickness makes it difficult to get a solid tackling angle. Gorham should turn heads in 2023 and see college interest start to bubble.
