I will be very open about the fact that some of these players probably deserve to be ranked, and speaking with different coaches in New York, some of them will rank VERY high on the 2025 rankings when their time comes. So why are they on the watchlist? With my rankings process, every player in our database who has film gets and evaluation. Most of the players on the watchlist have no publicly available film, while some have very limited film amounting to 10 plays or less. Under those circumstances, I cannot completely evaluate players and grade them to be ranked, landing them on our watchlist. However, this is the most stacked watchlist we have had in New York because these players are big names in big programs who just have had limited ability to play because of the elite talent their programs are churning out every year.
Steve Charles Steve Charles 6’7″ | 285 lbs | OL Erasmus Hall | 2025 NY headlines a very deep and potential filled group on the watchlist from Erasmus Hall. The top program in terms of consistently churning out division one talent there is always talent in the pipeline. None of these guys have film, or have very limited film available for good reason. The guys listed below are all offensive lineman and last season E-hall had five seniors starting along the offensive line, four of which have signed there letter of intent to play at the next level. There will be a complete overhaul with five new starters, many of which be listed below in addition to Charles. This group showed some really solid work at the Elite V showcase and there certainly is strong promise amongst this group just looking at measurable alone. I would expect several of these guys to be listed amongst the top offensive lineman in New York once they get some varsity film out.
Nicholas Merced Nicholas Merced 6’1″ | 310 lbs | OL Erasmus Hall | 2025 NY , Brandon Taffe Brandon Taffe 6’4″ | 310 lbs | OL Erasmus Hall | 2025 NY , Roland Stewart Roland Stewart OL Erasmus Hall | 2025 NY , Kaleb Hakim Kaleb Hakim 6’2″ | 300 lbs | OL Erasmus Hall | 2025 NY , Kwame Cato Kwame Cato 6’4″ | 315 lbs | OL Eramsus Hall | 2025 NY
Some other notable E-hall guys on the watchlist who are in line to get some stuff on film this year regardless of how big their role is are listed below. Wallace is a young but very athletic and intriguing prospect who although has a tough path to playtime considering how deep the E-hall D-line is, will undoubtedly be one of the top edge rushers in the state as he continues to develop. Johnson and Miciotta play positions where E-hall has some graduations so there is potential to get some snaps.
Treshawn Wallace Treshawn Wallace 6’2″ | 220 lbs | DL Erasmus Hall | 2025 NY , Ellis Johnson Ellis Johnson 6’2″ | 170 lbs | WR Erasmus Hall | 2025 NY , Carlo Miciotta Carlo Miciotta 5’11” | 180 lbs | LB Erasmus Hall | 2025 NY
Kwame John Kwame John 6’5″ | 275 lbs | OL Canarsie | 2025 NY looks to step into the Canarsie offensive line from a group that graduates multiple starting offensive lineman. John will look to be one of the top OL on a program that is looking to replace a very large graduating class especially on the offensive side of the ball. John has division I measurables and Canarsie plays the competition that gives their guys D1 looks. No doubt a player to watch this upcoming season and a guy who could jump up high on the rankings.
Anthony Marte Anthony Marte 6’1″ | 315 lbs | OL John F Kennedy | 2025 NY is listed as an OL because he has ideal size for a guard at the next level but he can play on both sides of the ball. Last season was his first season with Kennedy and there is limited film so a full evaluation could not be made but there is plenty to like with Marte. He plays with strength and on the offensive line he does a good job winning with hand placement. Look for Marte to continue to grow as an athlete and could turn into a really solid prospect for the next level.
Alec Anderson Alec Anderson 6’4″ | 175 lbs | WR Plainedge | 2025 NY has the ideal measurable for a WR at the next level with good speed and elite length and frame. Anderson has limited film available and there should be chances for snaps in the Plainedge wideout group this fall. A name to keep an eye on, especially in a wide receiver group in 2025 that is pretty top heavy with a big chance for guys to move up and down on Junior season performance and film.
Donte Rhoden Donte Rhoden 6’4″ | 220 lbs | DL Archbishop Stepinac | 2025 NY not only plays for a premier program in New York at Archbishop Stepinac, but has very good measurables and opportunities for snaps this upcoming season.
Brandon Simmons-Bragg Brandon Simmons-Bragg RB South Park | 2025 NY does not have film available but the RB for South Park is already a very established back with really solid production. I can find clips here and there of Simmons-Bragg where he shows really solid quickness and the willingness to put his head down and fight for extra yards. South Park returns some really solid offensive talent, Simmons-Bragg being the youngest.
A couple physical athletic freaks from FDR, Moses Seketawa and Calvin Holland Calvin Holland 6’4″ | OL FDR | 2025 NY have dominant measurables. Both guys physically are a level above most of their peers in the state and the next step is turning the success in the weight room into some really solid film to showcase to the next level. Both are in a position to have massive junior seasons.
Laferald Hines Jr Laferald Hines Jr 6’3″ | 235 lbs | DL Lackawanna | 2025 NY has great measurables for a defensive lineman and with a couple big graduations in the position group Hines Jr is in line for more snaps. Hines Jr also plays for a program in St. Francis that has a great track record of developing defensive lineman both on the inside and the outside, which Hines Jr could likely show some versatility and play both.
Highlights
Mack Mahoney Mack Mahoney 6’3″ | 290 lbs | OL Shaker | 2025 NY does not have film available but at 6’3, 290lbs there is a ton to like about the measurables and this Junior season should be a big one for the Shaker offensive lineman.
